Rick pretty much summed it up, property manager and security (heh, Paul Blart) took issue with our group being parked there, since they've had trouble with a different group in the past, which was then made worse by someone showing off at the worst time (while Pmok was talking to security). LOL yeah the police were actually pretty cool about the situation. My impression is that had the security and property mgmt not raised a fuss about our gathering, the cops would have rolled through, saw that we were not causing any problems, and left us alone with maybe a warning to keep things cool. As it was they took their sweet time to respond after the security called them, and we were largely able to carry out our business as paying customers and the general public. By the time they arrived we were essentially done.

The biggest issue was just the tension with the security guy hovering near our area and vocally telling us they didn't want us there. Even as we said we were paying customers who just wanted to go eat at the restaurants like any other public citizens. Chalk it up to over-reacting personnel acting on behalf of the property owners. But I'm sure it was the sheer size and numbers of our group that freaked them out. Success has its price... I'm going to think twice about patronizing that shopping center and area now in general, not because I fear the wrath of the property owners and the police, but because they clearly don't value our business and handled the situation pretty poorly.
