Is it stalling? Or just going up and down a few 100 rpm?

It is waaaay too easy to read something on here and think "hey maybe I have that" and create the symptoms in your head.

Just a friendly heads up:

You will hear weird noises you never heard before in other cars - RWD + Boxer engine + almost no sound proofing = strange sounds

You will probably have a noisy fuel pump (crickets) - There is no guaranteed way to change (not "fix" but change it isn't broken) this no matter what some may say. There are things you can try but there is no one method that works for all. Do not take the time or effort to get the pump changed.

Much (if not most) of the issues and Service bulletins that you may read about here were only applicable to early to mid production 13s. These problems were fixed way before yours or even my car (14) were built.

If you do think you have an issue check and see if it is already on here someplace - If you can't find anything then ask, but remember that "my car makes a swooshing noise when I start it" doesn't mean squat to anybody. Also keep in mind that there are a lot of experts on here but there are also a pile of people that think they are but are full of crap! Verify anything you find out through another source or be very sure you trust what you are told.

And above all remember it is a car and as sad as it can be shit happens!
Thanks a lot Tcoat, all the info you gave me was very informative , yes this is my first boxer so I'm new to the flat engine layout. I love this car so much I just don't want it to break on me. I will put more km on mines and see if I notice anything unusual if I do I will report back? For now I will just enjoy it until then. Thanks again Tcoat hope to see you around

Well get it checked then because that is not normal but it is not common either.

I actually had this issue for a while only used shell v power on a 2015 frs rs1.0. Issue was solved once I installed the Crawford eco block q2. Had it installed for 500 miles haven't had idle drop since.

I will speculate it is this ... http://crawfordperformance.com/product/eco-block-q2/ ... though I am not exactly sure what 'this' is.

It looks like it re-positions the MAF sensor and the description is reminiscent of a snake oil medication.

I have a 2015 RS 1.0 AT and I have pretty bad RPM fluctuation (goes from 1000 to 400) in park. It seems to occur at the same time as my other issue, my car has really jerky upshifts, both in auto and manual modes. The upshifts seem cause the engine to hiccup, or pause for a split second. Both problems goes away if I restart the car, but seems to come back randomly. Would I be able to get a reflash on my 2015? Or is that only available to certain VINs, I assume early 2013 models.

I had a 2013 FR-S, also AT, that I drove 15k miles on and I never had the jerky upshifts nor RPM fluctuations. My 2015 RS 1.0 I started noticing these issues past the 1000 break in period (which is when I started to push the car harder).

No defroster, AC or anything was on for that video btw.

Late to this, but I have this same issue intermittently with my 15 AT BRZ. Ive noticed it 3 times. The AC was not on in each case. So far i have about 3500 miles. It randomly goes away and its never outright stalled so im not too concerned about it.

The idle does go up and down but it is a normal function of a very precisely computer controlled system.
If it is dropping so far that you are stalling then you may have a problem that requires service but otherwise don't worry it is perfectly normal.
Wrong. I have a month old 2015 FRS and I came here because I have this issue. It's nothing too bad. I'll come to a stop at a light, the rpms will come down, then dip for a sec, car gets wobbly for a second, and then it evens out. AC is on, 500 miles so far.

It only happens at stop lights when I was driving fast and slowed down quickly. Otherwise, I do not experience the issue. I just wanted to confirm the 2015 do suffer from the dip at idle.

Not the same issue as before which would happen with the AC off and all the time not just under special circumstance. What you are describing is not unusual for many cars not just ours.

I have a brand new 2016 that started doing this today. 280 miles on it. Drove it into work on the interstate for 22 miles, AC on. Pulled into my parking garage downtown, no issues, but when I parked and turned off the AC, it started dropping down to 400rpm, started to stall, jumped up to 1100rpm, slowly started to fall all the way to 400 again, and back up to 1100. It did this about 5-6 times before I turned off the car.

To me at least, it seems like an ECU programming/learning issue. I bet if I pulled the battery for 15 minutes and reconnected it that it would be fine for a while. My 2014 Mustang would do the same thing, but only occasionally and never this bad.
