I basically knew I was walking into a "no warranty" situation but I believe in the product enough to try it. What I am saying is - if there is a real pattern of failures in a part it would be very diligent to go above simply telling people that it's their fault for not buying through a certain retailer. Once again - my car is a rolling billboard for HKS, literally. I thankfully have not had any issues and all of my installation has been professionally done. However if a part fails because of a glaringly obvious defect in the future I HOPE you guys will at least approach it with an open mind.

Hope it helps. The only photo of the pulley I took. I did not notice any part in the unit with the 5 bolts mounting pattern.

Why not? It's the exact same blower as the V1. They sell all different sized pulleys for this unit.

What's different about the pulley? Mine (V1) attaches with 5 bolts and I have been given assurance that the replacement I have on order will fit my existing pulley from Scott at HKS USA. The replacement will be new production, a V2 no doubt and I was paranoid after 16 weeks down time when I finally receive the replacement that the pulley wouldn't fit. I asked on this thread for people with V2 units to check if the pulley was a 5 bolt attachment but nobody responded.

Doesn't seem there are many people with this kit let us know what you find out Last edited by CxG; 08-05-2015 at 11:15 AM. Reason: quotes |

my decision was based off this... V1 made less power than V2 on stock pulleys. but V1 can get more power with fuel upgrades and a pulley by a tone. so i went with the V1 kit. this is all per evasive motor sports. i believe they have a lot of knowledge on these kits because they were the exclusive tuners for the V2 kit in R&D. P.S. V1 has 5 small bolts to mount the pulley i can take pics if need be |

So far I have yet to receive confirmation other than by HKS and somehow still concerned I will receive the replacement only to discover a 1 bolt center mount for the pulley.

The differences between the V1 and V2 kits are minimal; the V1 kit used the 7040 s/c and the V2 kit uses the 7040L - same blower, same output, but rotation and orientation is reversed for better packaging on the V2. The inlet pipe on the V1 kit has a choked-down 90 degree turn right before the throttle body which isn't ideal. The packaging of the V2 kit allowed a straight shot into the throttle body for a little better performance. V1 > V2 upgrade? Because the s/c is mounted in a different location, the V1 / V2 S/C mounting brackets are very different. Also due to the different s/c location, almost all the piping (intake & intercooler) is different. So it could be done, but the only original V1 part you'd have left is the intercooler itself. Everything else would have to be replaced. And just to be crystal clear - both versions use the same 5-bolt pulleys. V2 and V3 are very similar, V3 is just optimized to a whole different level. Most of the parts are the same between the kits (and there will be a very affordable V2 > V3 upgrade kit offered), the biggest difference between the two is the blower strategy. With the V3, we've actually slowed the blower down to flow more air with less pressure and less heat. Thus allowing for more aggressive ignition timing strategies, and thus, more horsepower. All the V3 details will be released (here) very soon. And yes, the V3 still uses the same 5-bolt pulleys |
