I fail to see the fail (other than the repeated Chevy Chase pic doesn't show) If it is the actor it is totally different than Daddhawk's.

I got excited and added too many quotes. The game is "keep a word - drop a word," not "rearrange the words."

Are you suggesting the game should be played like this?:
"Chevy Chase"
"Chase"

No, he's suggesting that the goal is to keep one word of a two word phrase and add a new word for a new phrase. You violated the "drop a word" portion.

Huh?
"Chevy Chase"
"Chase" <- "Chevy" is dropped.

Thread title is Keep a word...Drop a word. No mention of adding a word.

True, and you are technically correct, but the OP spells out the rules in more detail.

Post 2; Tough customer

Post 3: Tough break

Post 4: Break wind

Edit: keep it exact regarding plural or singular versions of the word(s)

Ahhhh but see this is where I argue that in the examples given they were in fact different words. Spelled the same but not the same. The wonderful English language in action.

Chevy Chase - A named geographical feature
Chase Chevy - The act of following (usually at speed) and a brand of car
Chevy Chase - The name of a person
