Nicely done!! If you don't mind me asking, what plastic are you printing with? I have access to a Dimensions FDM printer but limited to ABS and I'm weary of it supporting the weight of a 6.5" especially over bumps with aftermarket suspension. How are yours holding up?

If you can let me know the depth and how much clearance up front also that would be great. I could mount an mdf ring on top of the adapter for more depth if needed if there is enough clearance up front. Mine wouldn't have a tweeter on it either and would need something to support 5-6 pounds.

Did you also have to modify the panel that covers the speaker?
The panels have not been modified in any way. The new speakers sit in precisely the same locations as the factory ones in terms of distance from the panel.

You can fit a really deep speaker in there, but if I went with some 8" subs I would also get the bracket built by a local sheet metal fabricator to withstand the weight. Behind the speaker is the rear quarter panel which is pretty darn wide and has a lot of space

The speakers sound awesome. I am printing off some mounting plates for my new front speakers so I can complete the system. Full sound as the coaxes are a woofer and tweet I believe.

I use ABS and put a 100% fill layer every 6-10 depending on the part with dense infill. This mount is 7mm thick off the top of my head and so far has held up just fine, although I haven't driven it a whole lot just yet. I got my base tune today.

So you have a 6.5" speaker covered by a panel and firing out through a 3.5" speaker grill? How does it sound?

It sounds great. The position of the speaker allows the tweeter to be right near the center of the grill, which puts the woofer right behind it. So I still get full sound out of those grills and it's so much nicer with incredible clarity compared to the stock speakers they replaced.

Here is the front speaker adapter I made (another member on the forum gave me the inspiration) so I can replace the factory 6.5" with some Focal 6.5". It takes 20 hours to print a single side in 2 pieces!

I'd buy a pair of 5 1/4" rear adapters if you want to make and cut some. I haven't put in my rear speakers yet because of the lack of adapter lol

I can make them, but I would need to know the diamater of the basket on the back of your speaker (the innermost measurement of the ring) - this way I can ensure they fit properly when you get them.
