They threw in the 7 year 100k mile extended warranty when I bought it so plenty of time to troll the dealer

Is there anything we can do to quiet the noise down a little? I find it very annoying... Especially in drive-thru's.

They changed my pump under warranty a few weeks ago and the crickets are gone

I have never encountered this since I got my car (have put almost 20k km on it now), I got on the forums here not too long ago and was wondering what the hell this cricket noise everyone is hearing.

I went almost as long before I heard them. They only appear for me when I have a combo of very hot weather and ethanol gas. Even at their worst I can only hear it when going through a drive through. For me at least they are rare and not the horrid condition that I was expecting from reading.

I'm on second tank of gas using ESSO 91 and chirping disappeared...odd.

My first tank was 94 Husky which has 10% ethanol and it chirped.

Hopefully the gas switch was fix

Well the swarm of crickets found their way back under my hood. Got about 1k miles of silence on the new HPFP...

Dude, don't replace the pump. Just test with different gases in your area. Try with no ethanol/ alcohol additive ones. (Alchohol family. Anything that ends in "ol") You have to weed out the false info but many people and myself have been chirp free for a while.
