For those of you with the second gear issues, MTEC shifter springs and Motul are the way to go on that one. Even just the springs made a hell of a difference for me.
Does this help with every other gear as well with overall shifter feel?

Reminds me when I had my 94 Z32 300zx. It was a 2 seater... but I once fit 5 in there for a short 20 minute drive. 2 in passenger and 2 in hatch

i would say for myself at least, all other gears deff have an improve feel to them

your not second guessing where the gear is when down shifting

i have the Mtec springs and Motul along with Energy Suspensions Rear Shifter bushing, deff a nice upgrade

What I've noticed with this transmission is that it is very... Clunky when putting in and out of gear. It goes into gear smooth, yet alittle notchy and especially 3rd gear will make a nice clunk when shifting into it.

It does. The MTEC springs made the shifter like a rifle bolt. It just goes through the gears solidly and smoothly now. Very close to s2000 shifting feel. Definitely worth the $30 in my opinion.

Or you can just remove the clutch spring entirely, as many owners have. I havent done it myself, but some who have done it says it feels even better than the MTEC spring.

Here's the install video. Basically you need a 10mm allen wrench for the top spring and a 27mm socket for the bottom one.

The clutch spring has nothing to do with the shifter springs. The clutch spring is the assist on the clutch pedal. The two replacement shifter springs go in the transmission.

I recommend spending the money on a stubby 10mm allen key socket just to make your life easier.

Maybe it's just that station. I've used the same Shell station every time since I bought the car. The vapor lock rubber thingies are actually quite small, which is the problem. When I hold the pump up, it fits over perfectly, but if I try to let it hang, it sets everything at a very weird angle. I never used that Shell station with my xB so I'm not sure if it's the station or the car!

As of my first 500 miles with the car (512 to be exact) I hate in order of most infuriating to least.

1) The Scion badging
2) The responsiveness and feel of the gas pedal (if it were a cable throttle i'd say that there's some slack)
3) The height at witch the clutch pedal starts grabbing
4) Clunking in First and second (not often but it happens)
5) The speakers start distorting after 35 and are unbearable by 45 yet top out at 63 (I don't care about how loud it goes if it's not clear and crisp it's pointless)
6) The lack of rear and blind spot visibility
7) The stock prius tire imposed limitations

I'm not trying to be a nit picking hater right now but i just find these 7 things to be the only things preventing this car from being perfect off of the showroom floor.

Anything else is minor in comparison when talking about a daily driver.

I can help you out, unless you've lurked the forums for a bit already.

1) Rebadge! Or debadge. Whatever floats your boat.
3) There's a DIY on removing the spring on here to help this.
4) I've seen people post that this gets better with more miles.
5) The headunit is set to tC from factory. Try another setting to see. I think most run xB or FRS. FRS works perfectly fine for me.
6) Properly adjusted mirrors works wonders. Learned I've been doing it wrong for a while until I read a few threads on here. There's also DIY for swapping out the stock mirrors for convex mirrors. Members are really happy with those.
7) All depends on what you want in the car, I suppose. I love the little effort it takes to slide it the tail end out while on backroad runs. Summer is almost over so I'll have to switch them out

only been lurking the last couple days so I haven't found all the fixes. Was planning a rebadge (but I'm stuck on chrome or black) and was looking at some convex mirrors online but i was a bit loss on the trans clunking and the clutch pedal so i really appreciate the information. I'll get her up to my standards sooner or later
