This surprised me so much that my right foot went to the floor in a startle reflex and my left foot slipped off the clutch pedal, resulting in a very loud (accidental) burnout. I mean, it sounded like Big Daddy Don Garlits at the Gatornationals. Fortunately, a moment later, I got my right foot onto the brake pedal and the left back onto the clutch pedal, so I didn't actually move very much. This of course got a lot of attention from the other customers and several nervous looks. The woman in the Suburban was obviously anxious about this crazy lunatic doing burnouts at a gas station. I got out, looked at her and said, "Sorry; this car is so fast sometimes I can't hold it back."

She cut you off, stole your pump and you apologized? Dude.....

babydriver lied about his foot "slipping" off the clutch. Actually, for a brief moment he channeled his inner warchief and shouted "RAMMING SPEED" while barreling straight towards her. Then he quickly realized that he was in a FRS that was no match for a Suburban so he jumped on the brakes and apologized.

So I went to a hidden backroad twisty to test out the before and after effects of plugging the sound tube hole. Stopped at an intersection when this very beautiful girl proceeded to make her way across it. The whole 10 seconds, she kept her gaze at me and the car. Nothing special as it happens a lot.

Thing is, her boyfriend was walking behind her and just started yelling. He turned my way and just shot me an angry look. After they made their way across, I mashed the pedal, snapped the steering wheel to the right, and let the tires squeal. He then proceeded to yell even more.

Felt kinda bad for her...

Please don't revoke us PNWer's honorary Canadian recognition! We love having that title.

Well, at least I do.

Hold up. Are you saying you didn't notice it immediately? That damn thing is the most obnoxious, unnatural-sounding...

I did, just simply revving the engine in the driveway was more.. orgasmic sounding.

Wanted to take it out on the highway and hills to see how much of a difference it made. Now, I have to wait until my schedule line up with the local driving group. Wonder what it now sounds like going 80-100+ in 4th gear!

Not unless u b on the track. You can zoom-zoom at less illegal speeds in third. That's my go-to passing gear.

It just goes back to sounding like a normal engine. That thing is so fuggin' hokey.

...in case I haven't been perfectly clear about my feelings on the subject.

If I recall correctly, the Focus ST has the sound tube going through the air vents. Now those guys have it bad. They have to do a tiny bit more work than us lol
