Waited for a couple months to get my Dashlinq 4 unit in. Installed it, wired up the amp connector etc. It worked GREAT! for 2 days... now it just flashes its white led's at me. So I contacted Innotrends who had me open it up and take a look at a few things. Now they want me to pay to ship their unit back to them. After paying 500$ + 50$ shipping to get a broken unit, now being asked to pay another 50$ to ship it back? 100$ in shipping? they can keep their broken unit and give me a refund.
This unit was a 100$ mistake and that's IF they give me a full refund. I can't help but think about the tuner shops that ordered this, installed it, and now have their customers coming back at them angry because its not working. Then having to inform their customer that they will have to wait an additional two months to get back a "possibly" fixed unit for an extra 100$ in shipping. I can't promote or recommend this unit, the build quality for the price is very very mismatched and asking the customer to pay for shipping when you've sent them a broken unit is just a borderline scam to extort more money out of them for a bunk unit.

Probably the same thing with updated firmware. They said a few weeks ago they were branding the Dashlinq4 as the Dashlinq CT.

Well, new firmware... They said they have a new firmware for the Dashlinq4 coming soon. I hope this means we'll be getting it soon as well.

Me to. I love this thing for the most part, but there's a couple of things that are driving me nucking futs. Like I normally drive with my headlights on, but if I do that the stereo dims, no good. Ok, so I select time instead of headlights for the dimming. But that doesn't work because the unit stays dimmed way after it's bright in the morning, still no good. Next I tried setting both brightness levels to may and using Twilight to adjust things according to sunset timings for my area. But they conflict and no matter what I do, the screen will still dim and brighten with the time or headlights. Then there's the brightness of the back lit buttons, it's too bright at night, and there's no way to adjust it. I might add a switch somewhere to switch the illumination signal manually as the circuit that drives those LEDs is likely not adjustable. And the list on the home screen, why can't I edit it?! Even if I could just reorder it, things would be so much easier. Again, most of this is minor inconvenience, I just need to figure it out. |

On the normal "CarHome"? Pretty sure you can reorder 'em. Don't ask me how, I've been using CarHome-disabled versions for the last 3 updates or so. |

I'm not worried about turning on the headlights. I'm worried that I can't see the screen on the stereo when I do.

My point is, the "auto" headlight function uses a light sensor on the dashboard that does a good job of turning on the lights when it's actually dark enough to need them, which is also usually dark enough that even at reduced brightness you can still see the screen.
