I feel like it's opposite day sometimes when I come into this thread. High hood line? High belt line? Factually ugly? What the hell is going on here?

I saw it at the DFW auto show back in March and thought it was considerably more appealing than it had appeared in any of the pictures I had seen prior.

Just found an ND coupe rendering, compared against an FR-S. Looks a bit like a mini F-Type (good thing), but I can see what some are talking about re. the hood bulge on the new Miata. It's got a bit of a Roman nose.
![]() Looks aside, if Mazda sold an actual ND coupe, I'd strongly consider one.

They should have laid the engine over a la Porsche 924/944/968 to keep the hoodline and cowl low. Vertical inline 4 => high(ish) hood/cowl due to stupid pedestrian impact standards. Better solution still: V4!

I saw an ND here in Minnesota in my home town drive by right in front of me... Might be a dealer preprod model. Was red and had tan leather interior. Car looked really good, I thought it looked much better in person than in pictures.

Looks REALLY different in the video vs. the pictures. Almost doesn't look like the same car.

^I've mentioned it before, because the top is always down in pics and at low angles.
The video makes it look very much like the old miatas but with tiny headlights. |
