Exhaust Question?
Ok got a really good deal on Invidia Q300 but want to know if anybody have used this over and front pipe? If you did would you recommend it? I'll be doing header next year but need to decide on this before I install the exhaust and do the ecu flash....

Currently have Nvidia Q300 and Nvidia catless non-resonated front pipe, stock headers, stock overpipe, K&N Drop-In filter. They were both easy installs, and the sound is different, as you can probably tell from all the YouTube videos. Cold start is loud, but once it warms up, you can't hear the car. Crusing around isn't much more noisy than stock, but when you get on it, you can tell. Keep in mind that catless headers will make you a LOT louder. In what other ways would it be recommended or not? I am ok with them.

I have the overpipe and for the price I have zero complaints. My stock OP wasn't mating to my header very well and this OP fit perfectly. It has been through one winter and there is no sign of rust or anything of the sort. All those other OPs costing over 200 is just silly IMO.
As for the frontpipe...I know a number of forum members has it and I don't think anyone has had any major complaints but don't take my word for it.

Catless headers don't make you too much louder than stock by themselves. I have uncatted jdl uel's with a q300. It's perfect, and the car is MAYBE 15% louder than stock.

i had the car since stock. I went stock ->q300 -> catless JDL UEL. It is not a very big difference at all between just q300 and the header. This is still the quietest car I've ever had interior noise wise, and I drove a beater neon through college. The highway noise is infinitely louder than the exhaust.

I was running a concept g exhaust (pretty quiet) with a OFH and recently switched back to the oem exhaust manifold. I didn't think my setup was loud either initially but when I went back to stock it was insanely quieter, the catless header is what generated all the cabin noise for me, cruising at like 80mph was pretty droney at about 60mph it's pretty tolerable but who drives that slow lol. i would pay more for a better header. grupp-s is the best bang for your buck right now.

IMO cheap exhaust components will just be a headache, i have a cheap cat back and the fitment is terrible, just waiting for a nice sale on a cat back and im all over it!
look into Grupp-s for there header, looks like a promising header for a good price! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81839 |
