CEL P0852

I have a 13 mt and have had this code a couple of times. I am running a stage one 91 oct tune from my OFT. It seems that this is for an automatic so I am a bit confused. Any help would be welcome.

Will your car start if the clutch is NOT depressed .... ??

It shouldn't.

I'd suggest you disconnect the negative side of the battery for a couple of minutes to see if the code goes away ...... and doesn't return. Maybe it just "hiccupped".

No it wont start without the clutch down. I have cleared the cel and it comes back in about two weeks. The first time I was just double checking to make sure I wrote the code right because it didnt make sense. That s it though. Ive cleared it again with oft so nothing for the battery to do. Thanks

I swapped my clutch a year ago when I installed my built block and I had this code appear. I thought it was the ECU freaking out or something so I asked my tuner to disable it as it made my car run weird whenever it shows up every hour or two.

I wanted to install a remote start kit recently that relies on the neutral position switch but when I tested it the signal doesn't get grounded when in Neutral. Double checked with reverse and it was fine. I thought I might just change the sensor but it's about $220. Anyone here solved this issue? Also, is it possible to start the engine with gear in Neutral without pressing the clutch?
