I had thought about this a long while back for an MR project but the crank rotated the wrong direction.

Is this a hya bus siamese If so its perfect for this car. All you need to do is chop out all the metal bits that make up the chassis. Then insert a carbon fiber tub made with all the same attachment points for body panels and running gear.

It would drive like a mini TVR

Engine cost aside, you have to figure out how to mate the engine to the transmission....this seems pretty hard lol. And then get electronics to cooperate.

We have already done type of engine swap. Our V8 is based on the Kawasaki ZX-12 engine available in either 2.4 litre or 3 litre configurations. The kit can be installed without drilling a single hole in the car and includes wiring loom adapters and all the parts to fit the engine to the car (hoses, carbon drive shaft, gearbox adapters etc).

Here are a couple of reviews:-

@MSEL ...how much a v8 swap like this cost ? I mean I am surprised anybody would do anything so nice ...instead of buying a more prestigious vehicle.

It's not about the prestige. If you want a RWD platform from this decade that weighs under 3000 lbs to start a project on, you basically only have so many choices.

@MSEL
Thanks for posting here.
I haven't won the lottery yet so this is just an interest question. Is there an air filter lurking in there?

Bonnet seals against the top of the airbox. There is a panel air filter is in the carbon intake at the front of the airbox.

It is sold as a kit including Motec M150 ECU, carbon drive shaft, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, headers etc. Basically it comes with everything you need to do the conversion in a weekend. Best to contact Synergy directly for the price.

Why do it? We did it to show that we could do it. It was a challenge we set outselves to do the conversion without cutting a wire, drilling a hole or in any other way modifying the original chassis. The result is something which adds to the base car and in our opion correct the main short coming, which is lack of power, without detracting from what makes the original car so good.
