Again, being overweight by a set standard is not necessarily "unhealthy behavior" unto itself.
Your example of comparing a giving an alcoholic a beer does not work with a woman putting on a large size shirt. Now, if she had grabbed a burger and fries in protest then that would have been different.

I didn't get a ribbon for losing 70 lbs. I'm sure not praising someone for being lazy and overweight. I pay a lot in taxes and health insurance premiums that go to people who gave up caring about their health. I would prefer this money be spent on those who are not unhealthy by choice.

But that is making an assumption that everybody that is overweight is "lazy" and unhealthy.
I could throw a huge number of stereotypes up that just are not true and would get me banned in a second!

We are currently talking about this:

a lot of times I see stories about people getting "offended" that a skinny or fit person is in an advertisement or tv show or whatever and that is "fat shaming". this whole PC thing has just gotten out of control.

it's gone from "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" to "STICKS AND STONES!?!?!?! SOMEONE LOCK DOWN THE BUILDING AND CALL THE COPS!!! oh and words will send me to a therapist for the rest of my life.

I am fully understanding of these people. I understand some have other health issues that attribute being overweight, and I think they should be accepted for it as there isn't always much they can do about it. I don't think that is the case in the situation of the girl in the tank top though (I could be wrong).

The United States has a major problem with obesity, and I do not think it is "OK" for it to be socially acceptable and supported to be obese.

There are multiple ways used to determine if a person is obese http://www.webmd.com/diet/am-i-obese. And yes the woman in the article is by definition "obese".

I haven't found anything that suggests that, and looking into it he was very moderate; check out the wiki article on his first book:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Co...and_Child_Care

I regret bringing him into the conversation, while he likely kickstarted the trend to the mindset we've had for the past ~30 years he should not be held accountable.

I've got my rocks.

I should point out that while I'm not skinny I'm not fat either. without bragging to much(seewhatididthere) I'm 5'10" 225 and have abs.

I'm just big enough and train hard enough to where I can eat whatever I want all the time and really only have to worry about things like cholesterol which I don't by the way. it's probably sky high.

Are they all in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon or Washington?
Wait a second. Is that the only way they can get people to live in those States?

As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain
I take a look at my wife and realize she's very plain
But that's just perfect for an Amish like me
You know, I shun fancy things like electricity
At 4:30 in the morning I'm milkin' cows
Jebediah feeds the chickens and Jacob plows... fool
And I've been milkin' and plowin' so long that
Even Ezekiel thinks that my mind is gone
I'm a man of the land, I'm into discipline
Got a Bible in my hand and a beard on my chin
But if I finish all of my chores and you finish thine
Then tonight we're gonna party like it's 1699
