did you have to change the piping or still using the same one from the original kit?

All piping stayed the same. Just tweaked their position a little, got some couplers, and cut them to fit the pipes.

Is the turbo mounted to anything substantial or just sitting on the exhaust manifold and downpipe?

Sorry for the late response. Been super busy. I don't have the site I ordered it from bookmarked anymore, but its a TRE performance I believe. I had to modify it a little.... cut brackets off...weld some bungs...etc....nothing major. They use a garrett style core. Hope this helps.

Its mounted the same way the greddy turbo was. Still utilizes the greddy support brackets that hold everything to the motor. It was a direct fit on the turbine housing end.

Any dyno charts to compare to your last setup or are you still running an e-tune?

I actually talked about that in the first paragraph of the original post. The gtx turbos don't really come alive below 20psi (they are actually restrictive at lower boosts) and the other gt28r turbos were comparable to the t518z the kit originally came with. I wanted a turbo that could flow a good amount at 15-16psi with room to grow later.
