PLEASE HELP
Hi Guys,
I had a supercharger fitted and picked the car up yesterday, 2 hours into driving the car the check engine light came on with the traction control light so i pulled over and turned the car of and on the traction light with off but the checky engine stayed on, the car was ticking over perfectly. I dissconnected the battery and reconnected after 2 minites or so and all was clear so i started the driving again as i needed to catch a boat home. 350-400 miles later on my drive it happened and i did the same disconnected the battery, when home i couldnt read any codes due to reseting the ECU, i also cany get a hold of the company/ tuner of the install. What could this be? what would you do ? Please help Guys Thank you. |

Hmm, as I know disconnecting battery does not delete trouble codes in ECU. There are "soft codes" and "hard codes". Soft codes can be deleted via software (like techstream). But hard codes only delete when ECU senses that everything is OK for couple driving sessions. Maybe it was a "hard-code" and it deleted by itself...

What device have you used to read trouble codes? Only techstream (or subaru equivalent) shows all trouble codes. Bluetooth modules (like ELM327) only show trouble codes stored in ECU as I have encountered.

Did it go into limp mode? If it breaks traction while cruise control is engaged or at high speed, I think that can trigger a CEL and limp mode. A buddy of mine also has a SC FRS and this has happened to him a few times.
