FR-S vs 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R

Doug DeMuro compares his recently imported Nissan Skyline to an FR-S over on Jalopnik. Wait until you see the drag race. Pretty hilarious:

He's right on many points at the end. I wanted an R33 gtr and easily can find them for around $15k CAD. But the fact that I can't get parts for it and it being a 20 year-old sports car probably beaten up turned me off. But mostly, you won't find insurance for it and if you do, be prepared to get bent over hard. Just wasn't worth it in the end. The wow factor definitely is incredible but the sanity in me chose the FRS for obvious reasons.

I loved how dude in the video referred to the FRS lol.

There's a previous video about living with a right hand drive car in the U.S. where he takes the Skyline through a fast food drive-through backwards: http://jalopnik.com/heres-how-to-dri...-gt-1705851377

Awesome video, really enjoyed it.

One thing I'll mention, the R32 is legendary and rare and has a special feel about it, but if you think about it, the frs/brz will have the same feeling in 20 years when you will see a clean one and people will also go "wow look a frs" when most will be off the streets, abused or rusted out etc...

Looking at the trend in Japan, the 86/brz is already becoming a car that will always be tuned, talked about and sought after.

FRS/BRZ are the new 240SX. In 10 years, teenagers gonna buy em and slide 'em into telephone poles until there are hardly any left, and it costs 3k-5k for a rolling shell, just like 240's today.

None of us truly own our vehicles. We are merely custodians of them until they meet their true owners. A sticker bombing, mis-matched rim using, tire shredding pizza delivery kid named Chad.
