Wait, M96? From a 993? Are the Mezger engines also designated M96?
I feel like if it's not harder to do, a Subaru EZ36R is a better engine if you spend some money to bring the power output up. |

'84 3.2 Carrera motor was rated at ~ 217 hp by the factory. You have to spend a stunning amount of $$$ to get those motors up to 300 hp, and even more if you want reliability, which is what the stock 3.2 is known for. Getting that kind of power is NOT possible with the basic engine management programming you can do with an electronic FI 3.2. As an exercise in engineering and fun, have a blast and go for it, but it will be a motor in constant need of care and feeding.
As for an H-6 being "better" than a V-8 for handling/cornering dynamics, well, no good will come of engaging on that claim. |
