I told him you go find the sucker who will pay that later! I told him i am a patient guy i waited this long i will wait until you cant sell as many as you like and remove your BS mark up or find a dealer who wants to sell cars. I wrote Toyota as soon as i got home. I was one un-happy Toyota fan.
What was the listed price by the dealer?

The Sales guy was cool new everything about the car and more. He tried to get the manger to sell it to me at sticker price because he had over 5 thousand in options i was adding but the manager started the haggling i told him dont waste my time find some rich kid who's daddy will pay the mark up and walked away took one last look it was hot and with the full five axis kit would have been nice but not at that price!

At that price, it's just silly. Spend your money on a better car if they're making you pay that much.

I will say it again!!! "Pure Price" means what you see is what you pay! (with no negotiation)

Monkey see mark up.

Monkey pay mark up.

Or No Deal!

Would someone please Google Pure Price?!

Pure Price does not = MSRP.

I'd say go to the Scion site and locate all the dealers within 100 miles. Go to the dealers' individual web sites, see if they list the FR-S (some don't yet), and see what they are listing the price as. If they are just listing the price as MSRP without any mark up, they better be selling it for MSRP without any mark up.

just drove to the dealership today after finding out that they got some FR-S in their inventory. I walk up to the salesman with an attitude and ask them are you guys selling these cars at MSRP or putting a crazy markup on them. They responded NO NOOO we are not doing that. And those dealers who do that are breaking the law bla bla blaaa....

they were really friendly and took me to the back lot and showed me the FR-S cars. so big thumps up to Big Two Toyota Scion Of Chandler!

Anyone who lives in Arizona should be able to purchase the FR-S at MSRP prices! no markup and nothing crazy. the only thing that comes with them is window tint which makes sense because it is Arizona.

Great News all you Southern CA locals. Visited Penske Toyota in Rancho Santa Margarita today. Apparently there are some honest dealers honoring Scion's pure pricing and selling the FR-S at MSRP. The GM their told me any dealer marking up a Scion was headed for trouble from Scion Corp. Its against the pure pricing policy. It is legal on on Toyota vehicles and a Lexus but not a Scion. They had two in on the lot both being purchased at MSRP. Left my info dealer will be calling me when they get the Asphalt color in a 6 speed manual transmission for me.

DCH TOYOTA added about 2k for door guards and alarm, I assume they mean they added lo jack. Tried to sell me two different cars this way, they just bring them in as batches with all this crap on em.

Seriously, do these shady dealers know that adding 5K in markups or crappy, overpriced add-ons just makes your dealerships look douchey, and will turn away countless consumers for a short-term gain...?

At the 30-32K range (Price after these baloney 5K+ markups), this car is going head to head with machines like the 370z, Evo X GSR, Mustang GT, Camaro SS, Challenger RT, and used Vettes and M3's!!! I realize those cars have a different performance purpose, but they are damn hard to walk away from if the FRS/BRZ is going to be marked up that much...

Many dealers are missing the entire point of this car: LIGHTWEIGHT (cough, leather is usually a heavier material than other seat fabrics), AFFORDABLE (30-32K is starting to push it for many people), FUN (what's fun about scrambling to buy a car that has overpriced, tacky add-ons and paying through the nose for it?)

...Go ahead Scion, ruin the only chance your brand has at surviving...

My dealership just got 5 FR-S in yesterday and got to test drive one of them. After that, we tried to make a deal. Comes out with a 7k markup. Oh and this was the Liberty Toyota Dealership in Burlington, NJ.
