Channel locks work great for that, and you can use them for way more than just exhaust hangers.

Not necessary. I used a DIY I found online and went right at 'er. Although, I'm fairly handy and have a basic understanding of how things go together.

this, find a DIY or the install instruction online, its super easy, just take your time, hand tighten everything first to make sure it lines up and then finish by tightening with a ratchet.

Don't use WD40 to lubricate hangers. Use soapy water.
