I don't have heated seats in my current car, a friend and my parents have heated seats and I would love to have them, especially in our winters. Heated only comes with the leather/alcantara seats. As for the colour keyed interior on the GT 86 limited, my Celica is the same way only blue, right from factory. Seen here. Dual climate controls? Never had the argument "It's too hot/cold in here, turn up the air/heat." but it's perfect for you so you have to discomfort yourself to appease or ignore and piss off the passenger? Yeah, too many times has it happened to me and I've seen how it works in in my friend's truck. It's very nice and useful, again, especially for the climate Sask. has. LED HIDs, this should be a no-brainer. Such a small thing for such a great improvement in safety. Nav unit, I have an aftermarket one and it's nice to have. Having an OEM with added, integrated, functionalities would be even better. Fog lights, my Celica does not have them, but my Cavalier does. I like them, they do add extra light and have been useful. Wish I had them on the celi. Push button start, I think it's cool and gives it a more sport feel. That's all that matters to me. I enjoy the idea and it adds to my fun factor. Spoiler - I have a TRD edition Celica, have you seen the wing on them? I love it. I even added one to my Cavalier (A wing, not the same exact one from the TRD Celi) Quote:
lol do it! I'm sure badges will turn up on Ebay or you can order them from Toyota directly (if you don't mind the dealer mark up).

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the options you listed above. The only thing which I even remotely care for is the HID's and quite frankly, that doesn't make up the cost difference. Let's also not even go into the availability of the FR-S compared to the BRZ. I actually plan on owning one of these 2 next week. Care to guess which one (here's a hint... its the better looking one) ?. bneale |

I would pay extra to NOT have climate control. I've had it in other cars and I'm ****ing around with it more than the basic 3 knobs.
Only care about heated seats with leather. But yes, if it was 100-300 option I would have ticked the box. HIDs are nice until you bump a wall or get whacked with a cone and have to pay 1400 for a light instead of 250. Unless you drive a lot on unlit highways at night it's a non-issue. Halogen projectors are quite good. OEM Nav? They all suck, always. Audi, BMW, Acura - GARBAGE. Why waste money? Prox unlock/start - I could see learning to like not fishing for a key. Maybe aftermarket later. |

Ofc... I would have picked up the base model, but since I was part of the group buy - I can't justify spending 2k (+taxes) for the minimal upgrade it provides. That being said... IMO ppl who paid full price on the FRS are idiots. HID + Better seats + nav + security for only a grand more? No brainer. |

So yeah, the 86 badge belongs on the Scion just as much as it does on a Toyota or a BRZ. Quite frankly I like having the badge on the Scion because of all the BRZ retards who say "The Subaru Crowd is so much more mature". I've seen countless number of people on this forum put down the Toyota/Scion crowd and I've personally had a taste of this myself. I personally don't think brand has anything to do with owning a new 86. The cars are so similar that anyone who says one is more deserving of the 86 badge then the other, is wrong in my opinion. They are all 86's and quite frankly, I'm going to be a proud owner of a Scion FR-S. bneale |

But you're thinking about this in the complete opposite way that I'm thinking. I don't care for the leather seats. I also don't care about the sat nav. I don't like the BRZ front end, but I do like the HID's. So in my opinion, the car for me is the FR-S. Not only do I like the looks more then the BRZ, I really don't want all the extra crap. The price of the FR-S is better for me then the BRZ. I would rather pay less money for the same basic car. Not only that, but you know how hard its going to be to get a BRZ up here in Canada? There's almost nothing compared to the amount of Scions coming up here. Then there's the dealerships. The Subaru dealers are way more shady then the Scion dealerships. How many threads have you read on here where people are complaining about markups on an FR-S? Compare that to the BRZ and you'll see the Subaru dealers are trying to make extra money! So in terms of the dealerships, price, options, availablity, the FR-S is the better car for me. The difference in tax alone is roughly $1500 bucks. bneale |

Back to the topic of colour... Asphalt seems to be a bit of a misleading colour because it can look quite different depending on the light. I've seen pics of it where it practically looks black. I saw my FR-S outside today and I think it looked darker than it did indoors in the showroom. I've been really torn about the colour, not sure if I wanted that colour... I thought the black accents on the car were somewhat obscured by the dark colour of the car and didn't stand out like they do with the bright colours like white, red or lava. Honestly, if I could have any colour right now it probably would be the white, followed by red, lava and asphalt. But I'm tired of red since my 2010 4Runner is red (red salsa) too. I saw a dark grey camaro during lunch today and thought the colour looked very good, not as loud as some of the 'candy' colours I've seen. Anyhow after seeing it outside today, I think asphalt looks great and while it's not my first choice, it's an acceptable compromise to have my car sooner.
