I suggest you get a hold of or view a owners manual the week before you get your car ....... cause, likely you will be too excited to read it after you get the car. humfrz |

Howdy,
Wanted to stop by and say hello. I have been browsing the forum for the past few weeks after originally being pointed here while doing research on painting /modifying the emblems on my FRS. I bought my Raven FRS in march of 2013 and have enjoyed every minute of it since. Thanks - Neuro |

During the 6-7 months I was researching and test driving various cars, I drove only manual transmissions. I ended up purchasing the automatic, primarily because my eldest daughter will be a licensed driver this month and we'll be sharing our Xterra and the FRS based on car requirements at the time (ie. towing, or carrying softball gear). She wasn't interested in driving a stick and I spend a lot of time driving to/from the airport in Atlanta, so the auto seemed to be the better option. I also do quite a bit of highway driving and the gearing differences between auto/manual equates to about 500rpm at 80MPH. The gearing difference is also the reason you see a HWY fuel economy difference of 4MPG.
I don't plan on tracking the car, or autocross, but I do like playing on the mountain roads. Put the auto in sport mode and paddle shifting through the twisty-turnys is a lot of fun. Not sure what your car would be used for, so the best advice I can give is to drive both, consider the pros/cons based on utilization, then make your decision. I personally don't think you can go wrong with either. |

Hi all! I'm a brand new owner of a 2013 black BRZ MT w/ 20K miles on it. Seems to be in pretty good shape from what I can tell, and is damn fun to drive. I have been wanting a BRZ since they were first rumored, but was waiting for the STI / turbo version to come out. I finally gave up on that and just bought one. I am sorry I waited so long now.
She's bone stock ATM, but I have steel brake lines, Motul RBF 600, and XP8 pads on the way to get ready for the July 18th SCCA PDX in Summit Point, WV. I live in Annapolis, MD, so if anybody knows of a speed shop that is into the twins in the Baltimore / Washington / Northern Va area, I'd appreciate a pointer. thanks, Dave. |

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the FR-S, but not to Scion. I bought a 2008 Scion xB brand new back in 2008, and traded it in with almost 150K miles on it a few weeks ago for a 2013 FR-S in Firestorm with 17K miles. I'm a single mom with a son who just graduated from high school, so it's time to retire the "mom car" and drive a "me car" again! I owned a 1977 Triumph Spitfire a few years back as a play car, and my FR-S invokes many of the same feelings while driving it that the Spitfire did. In short, I'm in love with the new little red car I'm calling "Frances". Last night I pulled out the stock head unit and replaced it with the 2014/2015 touchscreen unit, and I love it. For the record, I'm 43 with bad knees and bad hips, so getting in and out is a bit of a challenge for me as well, but I'm happy to do it because I love this car so very much! Looking forward to being part of the forum! |
