Yea man that would be great...Thanks! I'm definitely going to buy this car within a month or so, just hoping to get the right price (no markups, maybe an option or two but not too many to drive up the price) and pleasant experience. I'll call Fred Anderson tomorrow morning before I go to see the car.

I went to Leith today to see their FR-S since Fred Anderson didn't have one on the lot. It looks much better in person than it does online! I was able to sit in it, pop the hood and the trunk. I may have been able to drive it, too, but I elected not to. The car at Leith is apparently already sold, but the dealer is holding it, presumably until the 1st of June. The dealer told me that the buyer knows that other people are able to sit in it and drive it, but it didn't sound right to me. Assuming that what the dealer told me is true, the owner must not have had any other option, as who would let others drive their car once they've bought it? I was very careful with ingress and egress to ensure that I didn't damage the car in any way, that I treated it as if if were a showpiece and not a demonstrator. That car ought to be tucked away in the back, away from prying eyes, or at the very least, locked-up in the showroom. It's not right to treat a sold car this way.

Wow...I did the exact same thing today. I called Fred Anderson, they said they won't have one on the lot until next week or so. Went to Leith around 3pm, saw the silver one parked out front and checked it out (first time seeing it in real life). Didn't drive it or do anything, just eye candy. As I was checking it out, a salesman comes with this older guy and they took it for a test drive. Then I talked to another salesman, said that they have a white one (AT) coming next week and that no one has claimed that one. Mentioned that there is probably a longer wait for a manual, probably a month or two. I went inside with him and he looked on the computer and told me that there are only about 19 manuals available in the area. I'm leaning towards Firestorm AT and he said that would be no problem, he can definitely find one for me. Haven't put down any deposit or anything, just inquiring. Will be going to Fred Anderson next weekend.

I looked at the inventory coming in and saw plenty of manuals inbound to the Southeast. I don't think you'll have to wait too long for one if you lock one down soon. Dealers can get any car from the region.

Good to know. I'll definitely be locking something down in the coming week or so and am very confident that I can have it by the end of June.

I should add that once a car has been allocated to another dealer a trade has to happen. When the cars are merely inbound they can go anywhere, at least that was my experience when I bought my tC. If you talk to Carl at Fred Anderson he should be able to tell you more.

Yea I'm going there next weekend, they should be calling or emailing me when they get another FR-S in and I'll definitely talk to him. He'll be my preferred choice to deal with moving forward.

Leith Toyota still has a silver AT. I put my deposit in on a Ultramarine or Asphalt over at Fred Anderson.

I should be finding out on the 1st or the 2nd when Fred Anderson will be getting their allocation. I'll either have it by the 4th or the 18th.

Coming to Raleigh this Friday afternoon/evening. Anyone want to have an intro-meet-up Friday? I'll be at Leith Toyota around 230-ish. I'm not too familiar with the Raleigh area, so suggestions as to where to grab a drink/food would be awesome. Let me know if interested.

Matt, how late will you be? I can't get off work until 4pm on Friday but I would be down for meeting up.
