Add the additional and potential headaches and issues that come along with boosting.

The Cayman is a work of art. Personally I'd get the S model too.

It was the car I was trading my FR-S in for until I got a great deal on my Vette.

In all seriousness I definitely agree the RS will be worth taking a look at in person.

Has anyone seen a US civic type R?

If they have, what are the specs?

Don't assume that the civic type R you've been jerking it too for the past year is the same civic type R thay MAY come to the US>

Far as I can tell there isn't a strong aftermarket for the FA20DIT yet so you're basically going for what's off the shelf so you spend the money doing the swap making all the piping work (hopefully you can cram it in without modifying it for emissions regs) and you end up with less grunt than an FA20 with a bolt on supercharger kit along with all the risks of Subaru's first DI Turbo engine which is probably less proven at this point than the FA20.

If you're going through the effort of an engine swap it's generally only worth doing it if you're going to get a significant advantage over easier alternatives like bolt-on FI or if the engine being swapped in has strong support over the outgoing engine such as LSx or 2JZ. The FA20DIT gets you 65 horses and less support as of now.

it' not from what I have seen, but then again I haven't seen any actual info on it other than that it will be different than the euro model.

Probably because it's not a 25 year old engine from the 90's lol Hell if I know, it puts down about 350 wheel with just a tune and freeing up the exhaust.

Factory tuned fa20dit found in the JDM STI-S, 305 hp, 311 lb*ft.
Factory tuned fa20dit found in the WRX s4 296 hp, 295 lb*ft.

I don't think its fair to judge the fa20dit from its NA tune.

FA20DIT is turbo, fair play that 300 hp is achievable with some effort, but that's also achievable while passing emissions on the FA20 with an off the shelf supercharging solution.

NA = North American.
Thanks for playing though.

And are you seriously saying that an aftermarket kit with an aftermarket tune, while making the same HP, has the same reliability as an engine with a factory turbo tuning?

Granted we haven't driven either yet... but that's just stupid. And that's coming from a Honda owner and racer with connections to HPD and big Honda race teams.

Fanboyism is dumb and generalized statements like that are nothing but fanboyism.

This. Not to mention that the engine from the WRX produces a hell of a lot more torque.
