Or just provide them on USB keys.
Or maybe on an iPad. Wishful thinking .

An electronic copy would be a great solution. They could even email them to us and copy corporate.

Does anyone have Scion Canada's ear?

For what i got from my dealer. It was a mistake/bad info about the security belt in the user manual. Toyota being extra carefull with those kind of thing since the brake episode in 2009. They wait to correct the thing before shipping the cars.

Some dealer already have one but no allowed to leave dealership for a test drive.

^Interesting, you'd figure the info would be identical - or near enough - to whatever has gone into the US manual it would affect them too?

I agree. Maybe some difference on regulation or they really fucked up the translation.

It's stupid that this is the actual problem causing delay's. Here is my simple solution.

When going to pick up the car, have the sales rep review the basic "don't do this crap" in person. Then have the person sign a liability release form acknowledging the fact that it has no manual and they have been told the list of "don't do this crap" in person.

Then simply have the customer pickup another copy of the manual (or send it via mail) whenever they do become available.

Problem solved! Cover your ass and all should be good.

I'll bet that there are federal regulations that an appropriate manual with the required notices must supplied with the new vehicle. No exceptions or work-arounds allowed, no matter how appealing to us they might be.

I'm guessing you have to be correct.

Or else its simply to easy to keep everyone happy. All they would need to do is simply as I suggested.

There must be a legal reason.

Got told today by Stampede Toyota in Calgary that my FRS is in Toyota Calgary warehouse but is being held up by paperwork or documentation.

Either way he said later this week(june1st) or possibly the week after i could take delivery of my Raven Black 6 speed.
