I think the SI is a far better car than the GT86.. that's why I didn't buy one!

Well that doesn't make much sense. I mean, I know the WRX STi is better than the FR-S performance wise, but it wasn't in my budget.

I love this logic. "It's made to be a race car, you should drive it like a race car or you dont know anything", by that logic, since I own a firearm for defense I should be consistently shooting it at people...

AHHHHH see this is what catches so many! It is not made to be a race car. It is made to be a street car that can easily be turned into a race car.
This also may explain why some buy it and then don't like it. They expect an off the shelf race car and then find out it is an econo package that you are supposed to use as a blank canvas to make what you want out of.
The car was designed for, priced for, built for and marketed for that very purpose. Toyota/Subaru were very clear on this all along right from concept. It was never ever presented as a ready to go race car and if that is what people thought they were buying they will be disappointed.

lol I don't remember you being so defensive about it last time, if I did I wouldn't have said anything.

I think this car will take abuse much better than your Mitsubishi's did (yes, I mean the Talon too), you constantly post about how impressed you are with the civility and readiness this car performs at. Maybe don't be so quick to toss this thing in the garbage at 3 years? Maybe go out and drive it at 10/10ths and get a couple powerslides in at an HPDE before selling it? Just a suggestion.

Edit: I won't bring it up for another 3-4 months now, I promise.

Your post about it not being an 'off the shelf racecar' and the various responses to it is a good basis for viewing this car because it also explains why so many are turned off by it (like the OP moving to an Si).

Well owning a firearm and never firing it is kind of the opposite end of the same spectrum and most people would agree just as much missing the point.

Ya reading it back it sounds much more defensive than what I intended when I wrote it.
And who says there haven't been any power slides? Unfortunately my playground now has houses going up so my many miles of beautifully paved, completely deserted streets is no longer available. I will find someplace else to play though (may hit the track if I become desperate enough)

Now let's not jump to conclusions. Let's see what else they have to say before we condemn them.

You can still buy a 2013 FR-S in 2015... That doesn't mean he's had the car 2 years.

What's suspicious is that he picked a very weird topic and made a polarizing comment with his first post.
