Smile Kraftwerks BRZ vs Kraftwerks Miata dyno results

for those who might be interested.
this is my friends' Kraftwerks powered NC Miata vs my KW BRZ, on the same dyno... both tuned by mike from moto-east
notice the early torque advantage of the NC motor

My belt was way too loose before I think. I was getting belt powder on parts near the SC plate. I also thought the cogged pulleys were the reason why the whine went completely away, after switching from smooth pulleys. But seems like my belt was just too loose.

I also couldn't get consistent results on the gates app because the belt was so loose. I'd pluck the belt and wouldn't get any results, or it would jump from 15hz to 120hz or something like that.

After using @vgi method above, I was able to actually get the gates app to read a consistent result. It is reading 55hz after every pluck (as well as I could actually feel it resonate now).

I'm going to drive around for a week or so and check back if the hz stays consistent (or my belt breaks from being so tight now). If it's still 55hz I might try and dial it into 60

Edit: well now that I measured the bolt, it's 19-20.5 mm depending on how you measure it exactly. So that puts me a little more at ease about being the correct tension now. Plus hearing the whine again is awesome!
So, after 2 weeks of daily driving, went to check my belt tension today.

Started at 55hz.
After 2 weeks, it was at 37hz.
Just tightened it to 61hz.

All according to the gates app.
Just as others mentioned, I'm not too shocked. I'll report back when I check in another 2 weeks if anything has changed.

I'm not on the forum regularly lately due to work and thus have been behind since around November. If you guys have something you want added to the first post just PM me a link to the specific post and I'll add it if it's appropriate. I know belt tension needs to be addressed. Hell, I haven't even gotten the Gates app to give me a good reading but haven't really spent time messing with it. I had to clarify the belt link was for the original belt. If there are new part numbers for updated pulleys, smaller pulleys, C38 set up, etc that anyone has discovered that would be good to add as well.

Has anyone successfully tried the 90mm pulley on the C30 besides Kraftwerks themselves?

@projek_01 I have the revised pulley system and the "High boost" pulley tuned by @moto east. What do you need to know?

I'm helping a buddy of Mine with his kraftwerks Kit... He ordered a 90mm pulley upgrade but when he went to install it, the existing Sc pulley is 75mm. He's confused as hell, and I don't have any experience with the KW kit. Any suggestions? Did they send him the wrong pulley?

They've updated their pulleys. Have him contact KW and get the new pulleys. The updated pulleys uses a 95mm SC pulley, and a 90mm "high boost" pulley.

I'm assuming they're using a larger crank pulley too?

Yup. I can go look at mine later and get the diameters

@protpibe @Freeman the updated crank pulley is 51T-128 and the "High Boost" pulley is 36T- 90 for the actual supercharger. There is another pulley they include which is a ?-95.

Are those for the c30 or the c38?

@John92
have you ever felt the difference between the two pulleys? I am hoping to get a little more omph in the 2000+ rpm range.

I have the updated pulleys and might consider the 90mm one. Does the high boost require fueling upgrades?

Already have a moto-east tune. I'd probably have to get a tune again unless it has higher boost built into the map.

I think if you superimpose the dynos from the normal pulley to the "high-boost" setup, most if not all the gains will be in the top-end, not down at 2000rpm. I recall the power above the stock pulley started around ~6000hp and peaked with a +25hp peak bump.
