Hi - I've tried using Torque on the HU, but it doesn't read the OBDII - I can use my phone without any problems, but the app says it's gathering info from the device, but nothing ever shows up. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? I have it set for bluetooth and have paired the device to HU.

here it is: http://dump.bitcheese.net/files/epawovy/app-release.apk 1) After installing, open it and set top slider to 0.04 for example (it means how fast volume will grow with speed). 2) To start it after every boot, turn on such setting in options 3) You are ready to go! Change the volume how you like and it will fine tune itself with the speed

After a system resume, the notification area says the service is still running, but sometimes it seems like it's not working. Simply tapping on the shortcut again (as if opening it for the first time) seems to kick it back into gear. Also, how is the app's target volume derived from that slider value? 'Cause it seems like it's more aggressive with the slider at lower values, which is counter-intuitive. [EDIT] just remembered, the "sometimes not working after resume" thing is not always this app's fault--sometimes my GPS bugs up and stops working, which would naturally interfere with this app's functionality. |

New price of only ~$450?? This is a steal! This looks like a huge upgrade over the BeSpoke radio

That is a good price but you may want to wait. They just posted something on Facebook saying that this is there last batch of Dashlinq4's. There may be a new version coming out.

I think it works simply multiplying speed with slider value and adding result to your volume. something like, but not exactly: 0.04*100(kph) = +4 volume ticks I will recheck algorithms. Quote:

I did purchase this one though - [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZWM0R4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailp age_o08_s00"]Amazon.com: ScanTool 425801 OBDLink SX USB: OBD Adapter/Diagnostic Scanner for Windows: Automotive[/ame] I can confirm that it works, but for some reason really seemed to slow down my whole system. I am using the Torque widgets on my home screen, so Torque is running all the time. Overall, this adapter worked fine, but I did go back to my semi reliable Bluetooth adapter due the slowness the USB adapter caused. I've been meaning to try it out again and do some tweaking on Torque, but haven't gotten back to it yet. YMMV, but thought I'd let you know. Last edited by bwthor; 06-07-2015 at 12:26 PM. |

The only issue--and from what I've read, this can crop up with any USB OBD2 adapter and Torque--is that if Torque is running and already polling the adapter for data before the ECU fully initializes (which can happen if the Dashlinq4 resumes from standby and Torque was running when it went to sleep), it can pop a CEL with code U0073 ("something network something something", basically the OBD2 adapter pulling data too soon interferes with the sensors and the ECU talking to each other). To prevent this, either don't use the resume function (fuck this), or make sure Torque is fully exited and not running before putting the head unit to sleep. To clear the CEL if it does trigger, scan for it in Torque (to make sure U0073 is the only one), then exit Torque and open the task manager to make sure it's fully exited and not running, then turn the car off, give it a few seconds, and turn it back on. The CEL should turn off, and you can now open Torque, scan for it again, and clear the code. |

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to connect to a hotspot on your phone on the fly?
my phone automatically turns on wifi and hotspots and bluetooth depending on where I am and what I'm connecting to, IE (on bluetooth connect turn on hotspot ..etc..) I keep hearing things about a wifi dongle? is there a usb port on the back of this unit or do you have to use the one on the dash? where would you put a usb hub and is that compatible? |
