On ots tune. You can real time datalog. To run e85 there are a few steps to considered nothing major though

Even at stock/street it needs a new map. I still remember my test drive being frustratingly slow. I'm not terribly tempted to go e85 immediately either. Mostly because I didn't realize the flex kits were in $600+ land lol.

If I were to find a cheap used oft I wouldn't mind running that for a while. I think I might make that the first mod.

Still not sure where to go after that. First boxer.... kinda want to get on the burble gimmick bandwagon with a uel header. Maybe jdl.

On the other hand if I do go FI next year buying a header would be a waste of money for the time in between.

I was originally dead set on getting a Q300 first but they are smaller than I would of hoped. Need to look into how bad 60mm would really be for FI.

Tires/wheels are a high priority as well but I don't want to get wheels in the size I'm going to need eventually while still being under powered. Spose I'll see what's out there cheap/local with decent tires already mounted.

Probably run the stock wheels/tires until the end of the season before winter wrapping the wheels. Pretty sure I'm not going to be able to afford a beater and extra insurance this year.

/sigh

Input on the 2nd purchase after oft would be appreciated.

I don't think ots would actually bother me that much if oft is pretty simple for tweaking fuel. Like I said I'd need to see one and play with it first. Where are you centralized? Maybe I can come meet ya for a demo when I get into my 86 next week

there are several topic on OFT under the software/tuning forum. I recommend reading them to get a better understanding of how they work and what they can do. OFT is not for everyone but for the NA guys, it should be sufficient. Based on my research, the OFT fit the budget and provided what I wanted. For the money, it's tough to beat, you can modify the tune to your liking or leave it as is. I am located in the Blaine but we can meet up if time permits.

Now that I actually have some free time I'll check some info out.

Went to look while typing. Not sure I like the on screen data. Looks really..... ummm..... game boy color.

Idk. Price vs fancy I suppose.

Great to see you got a car Kevin. You will enjoy it. For sure auto-x at PG this year, both days. Seat time is key with these cars. Matt and I will both be there, all weekend. Find us or someone in the Blue Staff shirts to help if you need some advise and instruction for auto-x.

Yes, on the street the car can be a bit boring when it comes to acceleration in stock form. But, in a performance setting you will be surprised at the performance out of the gate.

First mod for these cars should be tires, especially if you plan on doing any performance driving. My first mod was 17x9s with 245 Rivals, followed by a Grimmspeed Strut bar and Master Cylinder brace. I got second in SNA class for auto-x both days with no other mods. I got first in SNA at PG2014.2 in SNA with only suspension mods.

That being said, my car is now e85 on OFT. Great pickup, no issues, and flashing back and forth is effortless.

Hey everyone, I'm looking locally for a set of stock wheels. If anyone's got theirs laying around and wants to sell them or trade for a set of xxr 527 let me know! Thanks!

A lot of good info, thank you for sharing your perspective

I've autocrossed the rsx so hopefully the learning curve won't be too steep. I hope to have a week of ownership under my belt before pg lol. Supposed to be here today or tomorrow.

How'd those 17x9's feel in stock form? Did you notice the extra contact patch slowing you down much?

I was hoping to go with oft first because similarly with Kpro, it just wakes the car up a bit with the more aggressive map.

Who did your tuning, if you don't mind my asking? I know full blown prefers ecutek. I know Shane has tuned at least one 86 on oft though.

A few other sets of wheels, eh? let me know if you'd be interested in selling a set that you don't really use/care for.

I am trying to make a priority of getting something other than stock.

What size/offset are they, out of curiosity?

Picked up a helmet from a co-worker. Arai Corsair DOT/Snell 2010 for $100.

Pretty good snag I'd say. I wanted white but I like the red too I suppose.
