I have the model FR-S in the same color as mine for that exact reason.

The stripe will probably come off with some heat and some goo-gone. Plus, some people get RC or model cars and paint and modify them to mirror their own.

What is wrong with your car?

I think people going too far in either direction (good/bad) need a reality check. The twins are in no way perfect and if it is perfect for you, great, but no need to start calling people trolls for not feeling the same. The other side also need to heed the advice others presented. If you really hate the car, so much so be it. Just get rid of it or don't participate in the convo if you can't start ranting like a crazy person.

I love the car and can't think of any other car I would rather drive, but I'm not disillusioned to think the FA20 is some godsend of a motor and adding more power or larger engine is going destroy the magic that is the twins.

I will say owning a 2013, I am quite bitter that Subaru created such a fucken shitty tune and neither Toyota or Subaru make it easy to get the reflash done.

I think matching the lava color and depth without getting the actual automotive paint would be difficult. If you have an HVLP sprayer you could probably use plastic tarps to set up a little paint booth and spray it with the genuine paint.

my crickets have never gone away so I now live with them, I need a dash, my windows sound like nails on a chalkboard when you lower them, my interior rattles are unreal, and the big one that nobody can figure out is the clutch pedal noise. my clutch pedal makes a very loud clunk noise like none of the others I've heard on here, my tech who I trust very much so cant figure it out and Toyota really cant either, I'm pretty sure if I pressed it my car would get a trans but I'm just over it all to be honest.
I will get the windows and dash fixed and I plan to put something else in the car at this point.

as far as buying another car that's just not financially a good idea, I cant really trade my car in and finding someone to buy it would be a hassle. once the dash and windows are fixed I am going to fix the other issues by throwing those parts in the trash.
You and me both. I've been noticing how cheap the materials are more and more. Just driving with no music or anything and it's just a bunch of rattling coming from the dash. I love the car, don't get me wrong, and I knew purchasing a "scion" materials would be cheap. It's just I paid almost 30k for a 2013 car, I expect some good quality.

Oh and don't get me started on the squeaky windows, most embarrassing thing when I'm in a drive through and it's raining.

Well said.
You will find that people don't automatically call anybody with a complaint a troll and there are certainly some with legitimate complaints that have had long comprehensive conversations.
It is the ones that just pop up say that the "fact" is the car is no good and nobody should like it and then pop back into their hole to enjoy the show that are the trolls. Nothing wrong with opposing view points but when no reasonable argument other than "you are all hater fanboys that can't see the truth" is presented it invalidates any shred of credibility the poster may have had.

I know that this is blasphemy on here but $30 for car is cheap! If made of "better" materials the price would go up, the weight would increase and we would be reading all sorts of threads about how it is over priced heavy junk.
The rattles and noises are a product of the type of car it is and do not really reflect the quality of the build.
As far as the windows go there are two TSBs out there that have been proven to fix them on the majority of cars. If you haven't had them done get them. If you have and it came back take it in and have them do it again because they probably screwed up.

haha, yeah $30 for a car is really cheap, now $30,000 is a different story. I don't agree with that the weight would go up. Look at any luxury sport car, or even high end exotics. Fantastic build quality with light weight materials. I'm not saying use "exotic" materials and drive the price up to compete with Lamborghini, it's just that they could have used better materials that don't pop, rattle, and squeak without sacrificing weight, or price.

Ya Brandon that is rather contradictory really. You can't throw incredibly expensive luxury and exotics into the mix and say they could do the same for the price. There are very valid reasons why they cost so much.

On top of that not all of them make all that racket. I have zero pops, rattles or squeaks (except when it hits -20 out and even the top lines make noises then)

And sorry, but a purpose built, low production $30K car is indeed very cheap.

It would have sacrificed price. Better materials cost more and upgraded machines that can build to tighter tolerances cost more. That cost gets spread over the vehicles projected to be sold, which raises their price. Subaru and Toyota evidently thought that these cars would sell better at $25K for a base model than they would for $28K for a base model.

As I said in a previous post from a couple days ago, the good lord blessed me with some extra fundage and was planning to buy a 2nd car and keep the fr-s. I was looking at a 2013 Maxima and a 2014 Civic Ex. So I decided I was going with the Civic. While at the dealer, a 2014 SI coupe in black was really dirty in the lot and I asked my salesman what's the deal with the SI. Turns out it was a Demo Car that was about to head to a whole sale buyer. Only 6K on dot I asked to see if I could drive it and I fell in love guys. This thing rev's beautifully and my god is the interior fucking refined. Now I will say this thing does not handle as sharp as the FR-S but it's damn close. It was end of the month, they were getting ready to take a loss on it, and it was memorial day week so they were desperate for a sale. Ended up getting the car 20.5 and out the door and couldn't refuse. I'm saying good bye to the FRS as I have a buyer coming down tomorrow to pick her up.

I had some good laughs on this site and received more than enough help, this is a damn good community.

If you guys have any questions about any differences from the SI to FRS from a non-bias driver, let me know. I was in love with the FR-S but unfortunately I purchased an Out of Warranty Lemon that I was afraid in the near future would be a money pit.

Peace ya'll and remember... DRIVE IT LIKE YA FKN STOLE IT!!!
