ST Coilover Pics

I've been reading this thread and it seems camber plates should not be required. From what I understand, the ST coilover has a slotted top bolt connection that allows people to make minor adjustments to camber (~1.5 deg) per attached picture I borrowed from a different thread..


According to the SPC crash bolt specs, it says users can achieve up to 1.75 deg of camber. So if I use the SPC bolt on the ST coilover, what is the max camber I can get? Anybody know? 1.5, 1.75 or 3.25?


Also, at ~2" drop with 18x9.5 +40 and 255/35/18, what camber will I need in order not to rub in front from everyone's experience? My wheel guy is convinced this setup will rub without negative camber up front..

the amount of camber varies by car and alignment shop. when i switched to ST coilovers, i didnt reuse my camber bolts and was still able to get an even -2.0 deg camber up front on both sides. there's no fixed number for camber which is why the manufacturers can only say "up to X-degree of camber." when i was on only camber bolts with stock struts, i was only able to get -1.5 degrees, but some people squeaked out -1.8 deg while others only got -1.3 deg.

with a 2" drop and those wheel/tire specs, you will rub on the fender lip with 0 deg camber up front. the amount of camber you can get from the slotted hole varies, but it seems like it ranges from -1.5 to -2.0 degrees. with a 2" drop though, your rears will camber in around -2.X degrees naturally. you probably would want to try to dial in more camber up front with camber bolts or you can get adjustable rear LCA's and dial back less camber in the rears. depends on what setup you want.

I brought these used off a guy who had them on for a couple of winters.

Zinc coating bascailly wore off, probably due the brake dust more then anything. Brake dust is pretty crossive shit.

I took a wire brush and APC to them and they cleaned up pretty well.

Next they were taped, especially covering the threads, and prepped for paint.

I used some tremclad professional line rust spray paint and I think they turned out pretty well.

After they dry I'm gonna cover all the threads with anti-seize before installing them.

Call it overkill, but if you had to spend two hours scrubing the rust off like I did, anti-seize is a minor extra step.

Also.. After that zinc coating g is worn off these things rust from even hang drying over night..

Anyone know what the "out of the box" drop height is on these coilovers?

SPC camber bolts didn't fit on mine (ST XTA though, but the shock body should be the same). They interfere with the bracket for the brake line. With the OEM crash bolts I get around -2 deg camber.

Damm, heres hoping that mine aren't rusty.

I sprayed my coils with corrosion free and then wrapped them with neoprene coilover sleeves just before the winter. Surprisingly, we got a lot of salt this year with barely any snowfall..

Here's how they look after everything. The treads are coated in anti-seize just happens to look like the silver I painted the shock bodies.

Just gotta wait on replacement rear seats before I install them.

Be careful with the antisieze with exposed threading. They will get caked with dirt and that could end up being a bad time when trying to adjust them. Th roughly wipe them down if you make any adjustments before turning the locking collars.

Got the 300mm. Only thing I dont like about these is that it uses zip ties so gotta buy new ones every time you readjust. Other than that, they fit pretty perfectly with the st coils on the brz. Maybe a bit of slack at the bottom but if you tighten the zips enough, I doubt any dirt could've went through. Will update in about a week when I adjust it back to my "summer" height

ST Coils installed! I am not about that low life I still like function and performance so I dropped 1 inch in the back and 1.25 inches in the front.
My 18x9.5 wheels wrapped with 245/35 tires fit just fine no rubbing issues.

I am thinking about setting my camber to about 1 degree all around to flush out the body lines.
