First 86 stupid things you've done with/to your FR-S

I did this one twice within the first 2 weeks of getting the FR-S since my last car had a slushbox and I hadn't owned a manual in years:

In my garage at home, I normally leave it in neutral and just use the parking brake - so I press the clutch, start the car, and let it out in one, quick motion. When I go to the supermarket with a slight hill, I leave it in first in addition to the parking brake. As you can guess - clutch down, start, dump clutch immediately followed by stalling, a violent lurch forward, and nearly shitting myself.

Did that twice the first two times I left it in gear when parking... needless to say I wiggle shifter before I start the car now...

At least this is a super easy car to learn on. I taught my wife, my sister in law, and her boyfriend to drive in the FR-S with all of us packed inside (first time I got to use the back seats) and with minimal wear to the clutch. Had all of them moving without a single one stalling. Not quite as easy as learning on something with a flywheel that weighs a ton, but not like learning to drive on an s2000 or something with a flywheel that'll barely work as a paperweight.

You know what happened to the rear bumper.....aaahh. It was painful!

Back in highschool my best friend did this with her 89' 325i but it didn't start rolling for a few minutes. I was in my dad's brand new Durango and parked across the parking lot. Like 10 minutes before class started a classmate came running in yelling "There is a BMW rolling in slow-motion through the parking lot!" but didn't try to stop it. By the time we got outside it had rolled 60 or 70 feet into the bumper of the new truck.

Luckily, the damage to her bumper never had to be fixed since her dad smashed it into the wall doing 80mph at the Raceway Park road course a few weeks later. 12 years later there is a nice big rust spot on my dad's work truck bumper where it hit.

Be glad the garage door was right there to stop it!

Don't Think I did anything stupid........other then trying to drift with 40 bottle of water & a Watermelon in my trunk. Good thing that watermelon is Strong!

I can't remember the exact address for the one that the dealer took me on, it's near the Burien Toyota/Scion dealership. However, this one was fun when I took my bathtub on it. Scared my little brother when he was riding shotgun, even though I wasn't powersliding or anything.

I park my car on a sloped driveway. One afternoon i parked and put the e brake on but not tightly enough apparently. Someone who lived down the street rang my doorbell and told me a "white two door" was sitting in the middle of the street

I only slow down for the nasty speed bumps. Otherwise i just plow over them. Amazing this car at stock height doesnt scrape or bottom out unless they're really bad

Monday morning the skies were clear and the temp was mid-70s, so I left my windows slightly rolled down because I expected it to get hot.
Of course, a monsoon decided to hit and I wasn't aware of it until the end of the day.
My poor baby was soaked!
The passenger airbag insisted that someone was in the seat, and the radio kept telling me that I was getting a phone call, among other things.
It's finally acting normal again this morning, but wow that was stupid. I'm planning to take her to get detailed to make sure there's no mung left inside.

I had the brake fail on my Talon many years ago. While unlocking the house door I heard a slight noise, turned, and watched in horror as the car slowly rolled down the driveway, made a gentle turn and traveled most of a block before coming to a rest in the center of the road. It missed all curbs, cars and some poor confused guy trying to walk across the road while a driverless car backed toward him in the middle of the street.

Used to have a Geo Metro convertible (laugh you bastards but it was loads of fun to drive) and I would put the top down in June and back up again in September. Keep in mind this is Canada I am talking about not Arizona. The stereo took a beating and the carpets were perpetually damp but it really never got smelly or caused any real issues. Rain water is pretty clean.
