I just spent some time today reading thru this entire thread on the STI Performance Pack installed on the S206:

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-suspe...nk-review.html

It has some good insight and handling review on the various STI mods like the Flexible Draw Stiffeners, Pillowball Lateral Links, etc.

I found this comment interesting (note that the GR WRX STI 3rd model year "C" Chassis can have both front and rear flexible draw stiffeners):

"Those 206 parts are kind of interesting now that I've had a little more time to think them thru. It appear that their concept with the "rod" links is to prevent the front and rear sub frames from rotating around the center of subframe mount but allowing for the left and right sides of the chassis to have some up and down deflection. In essence allowing torsional rotation up and down but preventing the front and rear subframes from altering the wheel position relative to the chassis. I can see how this retains good cornering control (alignment) yet more compliant ride (less harsh).....interesting approach!"

Correct. Car part names are a bit different around the world. What we consider a "drive shaft" is called a "prop shaft" other places. Much like "hood" and "bonnet."

Oh the irony of having to reimport those back to Japan.

I worry that anything I change will void my warranty. That, and the fact that the stock brakes are very capable keep me from doing it.

I said when I bought the car, the point was not to change stuff just to change it. It would have to be a genuine weakness to be corrected. The wheels were only done because I just couldn't stand the OE ones, not because they didn't work. That was the only mod I allowed myself.

The stock brakes are very strong and so far are performing well.

I wanted to get the TS because it had all the goodies AND STI had assembled them as a package. Me just bolting on mods here and there isn't the same. I'll keep fighting the urge to mess with the car just to mess with it.

Dam guy and the tS trim is coming back on June 30th.

And TRD is really stepping up the game with the 14R-60. I can see how Subaru would never do a one-off like that as they are driveability focused. Have they even done a new Spec C yet for the new WRX STI?

Yeah, I'm pretty pissed that the dealer couldn't get that info, but, honestly, I love the hell out of my S. The standard BRZ is a stellar car as it sits.

Not paying 60 Gs for the 14R-60 with no more power that the standard 86, no way.

Don't worry 14R-60 is won through the raffle + it's limited to 100 car only. 14R has more in common to 86 then tS.

Sorry, but the twins are not 86s even the ones with Toyota badges. They are cool cars, but this hijacking of a name for a new vehicle is BS. They could have called it a Levin and that would have been fine, to invoke the 86, that's annoying.

I read that marketing actually wanted it named Celica but the project didn't want the historic linkage as AE86 made more sense to them. I kind of figured they can't call it Silvia and not weird ass enough to be called Alcyone either lol!

Yea the S trim is great, I think on the Subaru Japan site it says the S trim already comes with sports brake pads for the front. But the prices for the Sat-Nav options are insane!

For me I just want the Bilstein suspension.

I have the S and the brakes are bigger than the R and the same size as the RA Racing. They are really good, actually.

Need to find someone with a premium BRZ in WRB so I can swap and grab the tS GT wing haha. Proving to be a lot harder than it sounds
