Not just on the street, but also on transport trucks (might be because they're built around here). |

True, but at the time, even the ZL1 would have been an improvement (or at least a match) over my Daily Driver that was averaging about 18MPG.

By the way, is that skip shift still on the newer models? I never even checked. I know it can be disabled and whatnot, but I found it pretty meaningless. |

The reason I don't like to buy American and Korean cars because new models are usually have dramatic improvement and make older model lose value and looks like crap. Unlike Japanese cars, improvement is usually very subtle.

2016 Camaro 2.0 Turbo???
From a DD perspective:
Seems appetizing. 30+ mpg I'm sure. Unfortunately, data not out yet. Anyone like these beasts? Would you consider a 4cyl Camaro>their twin? Lately, it seems like American car companies are starting to rival import's harder and harder. Less of a choice now. Especially looking at price. Looking at Consumer Guide/Time, I read that American companies have been increasing in popularity (% wise) more than imports. (/enddrunkrant) http://www.chevrolet.com/2016-camaro/

Well, considering the domestic companies have had 30+ years to get start getting their collective acts together, it's about time! Maybe the domestic brands can take a play right out of the imports book and reverse engineer their cars and then make better clones. I'll admit, there's very little coming out of the import scene that excites me anymore, unless you're going for the cars that are pushing 6 figures. Just watching MAPperformance's thread about their ecoboost Mustang makes me want to get one! (if only it were smaller in size and weighed less)

I'm a Camaro fan, but there is absolutely no chance I would buy one with a turbo 4 in it as a replacement for the FR-S. I would consider the V6, but in the end if I'm going to own a Camaro, I'm going to own a proper Camaro, which means V8 with max torque, otherwise it's just a poser Camaro.
These were the top two contenders in my buy list in 2012, and it came down to the Camaro I would have been satisfied with would have been twice the price of the FR-S, which I am satisfied with as is. This is no different than if the FR-S had a 6 or 8 option. I would have bought the larger displacement.
