I know what you mean - I get the occasional "lurch" when the AT can't decide what it wants to do. The nice thing is if you use the paddle shifters at that point you get to manually override the AT without actually setting it into Manual, and if you stop manually shifting it'll go back to doing it for you.

It's still weird when it happens though. Feels like I have to kick it back into gear :p

hate about FRS

I wish they made a sport only version with no electronics crap, no usb port, no TPMS, no VSC, no phone connectivity, no air conditioning. the car would be lighter faster and cheaper. If I had to hate one thing it would be the FRS exhaust note. My previous car was a Fiat 500 Abarth. It was one of the most sportiest sounding cars you can buy for under $30.000. The combination of no muffler from the factory and a turbo whine was pure music to the ears. The burble noise the car made on deceleration was sinful. If you have ever heard one of these you know what I mean. I have the TRD exhaust on my FRS and even with this the sound is not nearly as exciting as the Abarth. The FRS sounds flat and does not have a deep growl. More exhaust tuning please Toyota and Subaru !!!!!!!!

A year later, I have a few more things I hate:

I hate the sound system. I didn't buy the car for the sound system though.

The aftermarket parts are so god damned expensive. I've never even HEARD of $600+ MUFFLERS, $750+ final drives, $1000+ headers, etc until I bought this car. Absolutely ridiculous. I came from domestic cars, and I understand the whole "pay to play" bullshit, but wow. I guess this is more aftermarket companies than the car, but I felt it needed to be said.

The NAV sucks. My Google phone does a better job, but that seems pretty normal for cars these days.

That's really about it. I'm still very satisfied with the car. If it had more power I'd probably wind up hurting myself and the interior noise and etc is just because its light.

Seriously - who's bright idea was that? Just a slight shade adjustment to charcoal and a bit of pattern added to the seat fabric would have made for a much cleaner- (and better-) looking interior.
We added some seat covers in plain grey and black, simply for protection / re-sale value reasons. They are nothing great but I reckon they blend in well and the "artistic director" approves, confirming your idea. It's easier to slip in and out too.

Useless analog speedo.

Would like oil pressure and amp guage instead.

Would like sun roof.

Rear trunk hard to close.

Driver window occasionally squeals when operated.

Doors are heavy when closing.

Jerky AT under certain conditions. Has only happened 3 times in 1,500 miles.

The top two things I love about the car is the solid feel and handling. Awesome!

With the litigious environment we live in and overlording government agencies demanding more and more technocrap on cars those days are over.

The reason fiat got away with no muffler in the U.S. and other places is because the turbo is the muffler in that case. That doesn't work for the FRS and a "sport only" model probably wouldn't sell too well mostly because that won't be legal here

Re: Yellow tinted windows. The side windows have a slight yellow-brown tint. I am an optical engineer/color scientist and am very sensitive to such things.

Re: popping occurs upon initial startup when engine has been sitting for awhile or when temperatures are low. Happens one or two times during the first 15 seconds on warmup. It is most likely the rich fuel condition which causes the fuel to ignite in the CAT. Other have reported this as well. Appears to be about as normal as the chirping at idle.

Re: Rough AT shifts under certain conditions. Many other owners have reported this as well.

I agree that the word "hate" is a bit harsh. Actually, overall I love my FRS. Not quite sure I will sell my motorcycle just yet!

I hope you can answer the questions I asked the window-glass makers but never received a reply. There are codes etched on the glass. What do they mean? Googling answered only some. How much UV do the windows filter, in particular the windscreen. After-market films claim 99.9% uv filtering..... why does glass not do the same and preserve our interiors from breakdown?

To my eyes the glass appears slightly green rather than yellow/brown and I quite like it.

Canada -5 to -30 x 4 months never once noticed this pop. Have TRD drop in and exhaust though so maybe that makes the difference.

Ya if it said "what are you mildly displeased about" I would probably have less issue with this thread. Other people (i.e. Click Bait bloggers) read this stuff though and all of a sudden the car is crap.
