It's likely the cable or the obdii port in the car.

I would see if I could borrow an obdii scanner to see if the port is working before shipping it back.

Mike, I used a friend's Solo a few months ago and his unit worked fine in my car so I dont think its the ECU connection. I could have waited until the weekend and tried mine in someone else's car but I decided to send it in today to save some time.

I got a call from AIM this evening and there is a problem with the CAN bus on my Solo DL so they are sending out a new unit to me today.

Glad to hear they got to the root of the issue.

I got the replacement Solo unit today and plugged it into car and drove around neighborhood. This unit is working correctly and picking up ECU data. Thanks AIM!

Changing unit of measure

Can units of measure for speed or temps be changed after tests have been run? I have all the units set up on Race Studio the way I want them but I see that units of measure after event yesterday are different. So I am wondering if I can change them in the RS2Analysis program. Thanks,

Unfortunately, no. The Solo DL is taking the raw output from CANBUS, interpreting it (converting it) into the unit of your choice, and then recording that interpreted number.

You *can* open the file raw and run a macro to change the units, but you're probably better off printing out a quick conversion table for the units you're trying to convert, when you're looking at data.

When you do the device configuration, make sure you set everything the way you want (units, decimal places, etc.), and then upload it to the Solo DL. Make sure you pull your data from the unit first, as reconfiguring wipes the unit!

Thanks, Mike! I did have units set up in configuration so I don't why they would have changed. I will look at config again and download it to the Solo. How many decimal places do you use?

I am using the Ram mount on quarter window on driver's door with the Solo tilted towards me so GPS results aren't accurate. Max longitudinal accel was .97! I will try mounting unit square with the car from side window, recalibrating it, and see if that works better.

Is it possible for the SoloDL to indicate when ABS is engaging? Either on the unit itself or afterwards when reviewing the data in RaceStudio? The documentation says it does not pull the ABS activation channel for our car like it does with the Miata, but can it be inferred by the brake pressure channel?

Is it possible to install a oil pressure sending unit so that pressure can be seen on the Solo DL thru the OBD2 port?

there's a lap comparison tool that lets you see in real time the relative positions of two laps, really need when comparing two drivers.

is there a way to export this as video or gif or something?

I'm wondering this as well. How do I tell where I'm engaging ABS when looking at the logs?

Any screen capture app, such as Adobe Captivate.
