It's my first year in an FRS, and I bought ZII-SS before the RE71's came out. Much regret.

When your ZIIs last 3 times as long you might think differently.

No. That just makes them more painful. I've been driving like a jackass, trying to kill them fast.

Unfortunately I'm either a wussy or I don't drive enough. Still lots of life left.

My Evo has run ZIIs for over 70 runs and they're still fairly healthy but my FR-S has torn up a set of RE71Rs in just 19 runs.

We have 70 runs on our Rival S's. I am going to flip them and hope for another 50 or so.

I have 22 concrete runs on my RE71Rs (18 at Lincoln), and they look great. What surface are you running on? The Bstones wear quickly, but that's abnormal.

I have 12 pro solo asphalt run, 5 concrete, and 5 asphalt runs on my stones and they are doing good. There is some side wear on the center rib but other than that they are great. I just took them off as I am picking up a 15 wrx this week and they are going right on. If anyone wants a 19mm perrin fsb let me know. Mint, perfect fitment. Pm me.

So I got my first local class win today. This was good enough to best the next fastest CS driver by 1.7 seconds and take 6th PAX out of 160 drivers (including quite a few former national champions). I still think I left a bit of time on the table, but eh, I'm happy. I'm finally starting to feel like the car is getting dialed in a bit and I'm figuring out how to drive it.

Nice run. Looked like maybe on the high speed slalom section you got behind a bit. Not enough to loose that much time though.

Can you share your 'fancy alignment' before you forget all your FR-S knowledge? :-)

Lol honestly I call it fancy because the shop I go to does nothing but autox cars. There is not much you can do with this car alignment wise outside of the regular, little toe out front, max camber, little toe in rear.

Hahaha... ok, that's pretty much what most have landed on I think.

I still don't do "data" or video, but I did some tire testing while everyone was having fun at Wilmington ProSolo this weekend. It was nice to run my car with the front sway attached again! This information is all from the butt dyno on a moderately grippy asphalt lot with the temperature at 90*.

I ran the same shock settings and tire pressures for both tires.

First six runs were on 225 RE71Rs (only 4 total runs before test) - Dropped ~1 tenth on the first few runs, then ran the same time on runs 4-6. I need to find that time in runs 1-3 though! Loads of grip in slaloms, good but not my favorite in slow sweepers. I'm pretty sure that I'm underdriving this tire.
46.3, 46.3, 46.2, 45.8, 45.8, 45.7

Final nine runs were on 225 AD08R (180 runs before test) - Ninth run was fastest and ~3 tenths off fastest run on RE71R. Nowhere near the same grip in slaloms as RE71R, but surprisingly on par in the slow sweepers! I know this tire VERY well on my car and still love it very much, but there's no denying the RE71R is faster. With these tires being near the end of their life, any little mistake would cost me a lot as you may notice with the inconsistent times below. I had to start spraying the tires after ~6 runs.
47.7, 46.6, 46.9, 48.6, 47.0, 46.7, 48.2, 46.2, 45.9

For the afternoon, the course was flipped for the better and my laziness kicked in because I valued seat time over changing back to the RE71R, so I just did 12 runs on the AD08R and packed it up.

Yes, I know the AD08R is 180tw and not legal for national events now, but it's still the best all around street tire I've ever driven. At 200+ runs, I think they easily still have another 50-70 runs. However, they are giving up 0.7-1.0 or more seconds on course, and I will be on the RE71R for any relevant events moving forward... My only National event scheduled this year will be the Toledo Match Tour, but perhaps something will fall into place to be in a CS car in Lincoln in September.
