Not to be blacklisted, but I'd like to inform anyone about Maita Subaru in Sacramento, CA. They have a $2k markup on Limited due to "low supply and high demand" according to 2 sales managers I had emailed.

That $6000 markup is just plain greedy in my book.

Wait a minute. Scion dealers are doing this as well? I've heard nothing but how the "pure pricing" policy works both ways and was the only thing that kept customers calm since it also kept dealerships reigned in from markups.
Are people actually saying now that pure pricing only works in one direction? I want to be sure I'm clear on this and that it isn't just a case of an isolated incident of a dealer going against policy, who might get into a whole mess of trouble with corporate if they end up being reported for violating said policy. |

Simple. DON'T pay it! Find another dealer (if possible), or wait until they sell at suggested retail.

Did any of you agree to pay MSRP or a different price only to have the price increase closer to delivery?

Hi just wanted to share an email I got from Puente Hills Subaru:

My friend (LeeLeeTee) pre-ordered on March 7 and was going to pick up her BRZ today from South Coast Subaru in Costa Mesa. When she got there, they decided to tap on $5000 additional, so she just got her deposit back. Pleases ADD THEM TO THE BLACKLIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subaru of Costa Mesa ruined my Memorial Day weekend!
I hate them. I pre-ordered my car in March. Got a call from them today saying the car was in the dealership. I go in to see that the car has been marked up 5000 above MSRP. Not paying more than MSRP, when they had specifically said MSRP when I pre-ordered.

Yep, here is the window sticker from when LeeLeeTee and I went down there. The salesman clearly stated MSRP when the deposit was left, he even reiterated this fact when we came down, but due to new management the game had changed apparently. I was not having any of their noise. She has an FR-S on order from Longo, so it will work out in the end. They are straight shooters.
