I planned on leasing but my sales guy talked me out of it.

Asphalt M/T only option is trunk mat

$26112 - $1000 scion college credit = $25112 out the door(with lifetime warranty)

Lease. $1000 down $399 a month for 39month's

Own. $3000 down $305 a month for 72 months

Does $399 include tax?

I'm just asking because when I plug 3 years into the payment calculator into Scion's website, for a lease, $1,000 down in the form of the college credit (not additional cash out of pocket), the monthly payment is $309/month. + whatever little cents the trunk mat would add.

Toyota/scion doesn't have any special's on leasing. I'm assuming that is with tax. When I do the final paperwork, I will post it up

Also will double check with scion as well as the dealer cause it pulled up the same $309 for me to.

I plan on buying. I tend to keep things for a very long time, and this seems like a car I could always keep, and when I need something practical I can have it as a second car.

Buying, 5 year loan. I kept my Mazda MX-3 for 17 years and I intend to keep my FR-S just as long.

I also plan on buying. Gonna put at least 10k down on down payment, maybe more if I can. More down payment = less monthly payment! And it won't be for a while till I'm ready anyways, so maybe they'll have a used one by then.

Buying. Putting a 15k downpayment and financing the rest.

This will be my DD for years to come.

Yeah I agree, if I wasn't in the Navy and in college right now I would've just gotten a used prelude or MR2..I think leasing is is cool but as for me im buying this as my project car.

Leasing isn't entirely a waste of money. My parents have been financing a dodge intrepid for some years now. Since getting the car, it's required it's share of fixing, including a very costly engine rebuild. After all that money dumped on the car, they're left with the same crappy car, which will need more repairs later. Leasing would be much better in this case, at least over buying used
