Why not do a wookie themed car instead. I don't remember seeing any hairy brown cars aside from the dog car in Dumb & Dumber.

I think your rendering looks good. Dunno that I'd think"storm trooper" when I saw it, but it definitely looks good. The black tape you tried... not so much. Keep at it you'll find something
