Then you better not read any threads written by owners of Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, 370Zs, Geneses, Porsches, or any other non-twin performance cars.

Because you'll be avoiding them too.

I have owned 4 mustangs including 2012 boss. boss had too much power to use as a DD si if the twins are anywhere close to handeling performance of the twins on the street, id be happy. but new wrx/ sti seems to be a good choice too. we shall see when I test drive after this deployment in 5 months

It's not the flywheel. It's the gearbox. All MTs do it to some degree. This one just doesn't hide it. Personally, I like it. Just more feedback telling me not to lug it.

Oh but this is the hate thread. Sorry, I mean "Grrrr... it sucks!"

I guess I'll take it to an upholsterer to have the loop moved lower to hold it down so it's in a more comfortable position that will also be more effective if I ever need it to be because it seems to me that it would be dangerous in an accident if it's across my neck. I'm guessing they designed it around a driver approximately 5'10" and I'm a few inches shy of that.
I agree with observation at certain seat positions the belt cuts into my neck as well and I'm an average 5'8". I guess a simple fix would be add one of those seatbelt shoulder pads?

They are actually hard to beat for fun to drive but we are anal enthusiasts by nature and never really satisfied. Having said that there are a few improvements that should have been made by now.

Consider a Golf GTI. They have been refined now so much that the reviewers are complaining that they are boring.

Alternatively, get one of the twins and spend countless hours and $$ modifying.

NOOOOOOOO I'm 5'6"

I'll make it work. For some reason, I don't remember the seatbelt being an issue during the test drive. Probably because I was busy taking low speed hairpins at 2-3 times the posted speed limit and not crash the car into the guardrails.

Or read any of the several thousand "I love this car" circle jerk threads that exist instead of basing an opinion on a thread solely dedicated to bitching about every little thing.
I would link them all but even I don't have that much time!

Drive one and decide. I didn't pull the trigger on my car until I rented one and beat on it for an afternoon. All the things I liked in the rental are evident in my car. Most of the things I didn't like are evident in my car except the seats, the leather seats fit better and I can't tell you why, but they do and the theory I had about the STI front splitter curbing high speed lift was proven right. My car has it, the rental didn't and my car is noticeably more stable at high speed.

The car is a handling-centric car. You will get beat down in a drag race by a fat guy on a rascal scooter, but the carving abilities of this "slow" car are far above the price point. Keep it in the peaky powerband and achieve cornering joy. If you like twisties, give the car a try. If you are a stoplight warrior look elsewhere.

Quit trying to out think the engineers and just drive the car.
