Even a few dealers have quoted me in that range or $500 over invoice.

As the Mustang sits well under 30k it is probably by the numbers the best performance buy in a very long time in this price bracket and the base is atleast 50-60 pounds lighter than the Premium maybe even more. I thought i wouldnt like the Base's interior and i ended up rather liking it a lot even without the recaros...their are improvements to the materials that cant be seen in the pics with new softtouch materials and it was equiped well to. The modding potential is the best i've seen in a N/A V6 very impressive engine that nearly sounds like a high revving V8,me myself i dont need track apts, leather and different color lighting..the base is just fine and the lightest of all the Mustangs this is a well sorted package as is the FRS/BRZ,MX-5 Miata and the Genesis.

This is a great time to be a car guy or gal we even have great FWD and AWD cars like the WRX,GTI,Civic SI,Mini Cooper S,Mazdaspeed 3,Sonic LTZ....and even the new Veloster Turbo,Fiat 500 Abarth, and the Focus ST all these cars are under $30k and all these cars handle well regardless of their drivetrain positioning cars not handling well is a thing of the past....
this is all true. But worth noting it is a very different car than the gt86. I would never buy a mustang. Not because I think it sucks, but its just too heavy and big for my taste. I think most of us are looking for a smaller sports car. But like you said there are sporty cars right now for every type of buyer.

Someone just ran a 10.89 theirs plenty of power mods for the V6 stangs it always has been this Stang just happens to be a monster platform compared to the other V6 stangs of the last 40+ years....lets see how long it takes a FRS/BRZ to run a 10.89 its already guys running bottom...bottom 13's with just tunes, axlebacks, and Cai's ....and surely your not saying the lil boxter and its ecu is better than the 3.7 or more tunable are you?

Your deplorable grammar aside, I am not saying the FA20 is more tune-able. The old V6 was crap, will be crap, will remain crap, and never had the following the same generation V8 did was all I said.

My '07 V6 Mustang with the "previous iteration" 4.0 V6. It puts down more HP/TQ at the tire than a same year V8 car does at the crankshaft. The new 3.7 V6 is an animal and the performance potential of that engine is massive. Yes, I drive a V6 Mustang, and for all the haters, it's license plate reads "NO RSPKT".

There's this really weird part of me deep down that I never knew existed so strongly until spending so much time in this thread.

I think I like the mustang....a lot.

I've NEVER been a fan of American cars outside of some really cool rally ones (Ford RS200, awd escort, etc) but there is just too much bang for the buck on these new mustangs that look very good after the facelift. They're more curvy now and I think that hits the part of my brain that likes Japanese cars. And then there's the part where you get 420hp for $31k in a base GT...or a super badass Boss 302 for $42k that's damn near track ready.

Damn Ford, you almost got me! Bravo.

I agree. The Boss is awesome...I drove it not too long ago...the exhaust and power delivery is near sexual, lol. The GT is also great bang for the buck...just not what I want in a DD right now.

Most of your fanboyism rants on this forum are crap...i bet you've never raced a day in your life. On another note your right the old 3.8 and 4.0 were crappy engines...but they always made impressive torque...and good horsepower with FI.
