I got more people trying to race when I had my turbo Volvo than my FRS. They would underestimate a volvo big time, I would get eclipses and civics trying all the time.. little did they know I was about 300hp, awd and was into boost at 2600rpm.. so they didn't stand a chance.

Omg I do the same thing. Good old radio changing move

I don't believe it...

With E85, the twins are making about 230 bhp. a v6 camry is 268 bhp and weighs 750 lbs more...

Besides forget about the paper numbers. I've seen them in real life and no, they don't beat a n/a e85 twin...

so they make about 12% more hp but weigh about 25% more...

Barely 230, on a fresh-that-day tune, and all bolt-ons, versus 268 bhp on crap gas almost anywhere in the country, any time of the year. Additionally, E85 ain't available everywhere, and practically nowhere in New England. But besides all that, it's close enough for me not to care who wins. Barely squeezing out a win to the next traffic light over a stock 4 door peoplemovermobile on 89 octane ain't exactly a glorious win...lol. At least, not for me. I'll take a more definitive win elsewhere.

Excellent point, you wanna race in a straight line, take it to a track. You wanna race on a twisty road, take it to the track.

@Jaden unless you're doing HPDE, the numbers you're talking about mean nothing really. The car is not underpowered for what I use it for. But then again, I don't race teenagers and early 20's people in mommy and daddy's car. Am I doing it wrong?

I said you'd be surprised what an E85 tune would do.

All I hear is how slow the twins are. They aren't... Not even in the straights. They aren't lightning, but they are molasses either...Throw a well tuned turbo on and it's a whole different story..

I agree, especially considering what "sports cars" were considered when I was growing up. Rabbit GTi's were turning out SCORCHING 10 second 0-60 times...lol. But everything is relative...Porsche 911s were only posting mid to high 6 second 0-60 times. My point is that compared to how the average new sedan is able to perform, the '86 is nothing to write home about, in a straight line. I'm fully aware (and appreciative) that it's designed to excel in other areas.

Not doing it wrong...

I'm not either, but if you wanted to, you're not going to be left at the starting line by vanagons and most grocery getters either like some people love to claim...

If I'd wanted to drag race people I wouldn't have bought a twin.

Well, not saying you can't drag race. You have to make a few modifications, sure.
