Oh, and while we're talking about shit that dealers come up with...

Here's the "specs" for the 2016 BRZ courtesy of a boston suburb dealership:

Until I hear something official, I'm just going to assume they're all full of shit

That is actually not the case haha. Well not in southern california. Frs to brz ratio is at least 10:1. I bought my brz in seattle and washington reps subaru like crazy but california does not.

From my random encounters around the Los Angeles area, the BRZ to FRS ratio seems to be around 1:1

(This isn't trying to debunk the ~10:1 ratio allowed to be sold by Subaru.)

I guess it just depends on location. Here is an example from a local meet I went to.

Its at least 50/50 here in Norcal.

A lot of people buy BRZs either because of the brand or because Scion has a no-haggle policy while Subaru does not.

Maybe it is based on location. As for where i live in socal (orange county) it is truly that ratio. Yesterday alone i saw 3 frs's, no brz's. Last time i saw the sales figures the frs blew brz sales out of the water too. I think most people just went with the cheaper option of the two. Just based off observation in the streets and not a meetup because that brings biased results subaru just isnt popular here like how i saw it in washington

The only place I've seen 10:1 officially stated is in the UK, famously in the Top Gear episode where they reviewed the car. The US is closer to 3:1.

And the Subie love is strong in the SF area, probably third or fourth most popular region behind Colorado, the NW and the NE. Definitely less so in SoCal whenever I visit.

I've heard the 7:1 ratio thrown around here before, but looking at the sales number thread [1], it looks more like 3:1.

21396 brz vs 67648 frs

7:1 is for all the ones they produce

so it's 86/GT86/FRS : BRZ

I honestly take the dealer's news with a grain of salt. The dealer is exactly what he is, a dealer. I don't think he would have the inside scoops on the future of the BRZ.

That being said, I'm patiently waiting for the news on the 2016 BRZ. I'm looking forward to putting a payment on one of the BRZs allocated to my local dealership.

I'm waiting to hear what changes Subaru makes before pulling the trigger on a 2016. The local dealer here in Kirkland, WA said he has no info on them yet.

well looking on the bright side, at least it's getting it's dark blue option back. I hope it looks better than GBS albeit GBS set the bar quite high in terms of looks.

You guys should wait for the 2017 model if you can. That is when they are really going to make some changes.
