What about the HPI Racing scale models?
First 86'ers,
Have any of you heard about the HPI Racing scale model cars that we are going to get in the color we bought? I'm excited about this as I have heard reports from 2 sources that suggest we are getting this. One was the HPI Racing booth out in CA and the other was from someone at my dealership. I'm excited to get the scale model since I think those are cool. Perhaps more will come with that package. Can someone confirm this? Davyator |

They are 1:10 scale, so they are about a foot and change long.

I'm not a First 86'er (and I'm getting a BRZ) but I'd love to obtain a 1/10th 86/BRZ/FRS body... I thinks its about time for a new body on my drift car and one of these would be nice. Any idea if they are going to be released for sale any time soon?

I was afraid of that, the CF Frame is exactly 12" wide. The glass area wouldn't be wide enough for the front of the car. Potentially though, you could use it for the top, make the top with a wider wooden lip and have the frame a view from the top. Hmmm.....
By the way, here it is in action: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryiOPuA-Dag"]SPIED!!! HPI Racing Scion FR-S Track Testing - YouTube[/ame] |

The GM at the dealer I got mine from said multiple times I would be getting it. I spoke with him yesterday about something unrelated and he said he was going to contact a regional rep regarding it along with the plate frame I was supposed to get.

If we're actually getting them, I'll just put the RC car on my desk at work instead of the more-boring-but-more-rare license plate frame. ...If I can find somewhere to shove aside my dozens of Transformers figures.

Civicdrivr,
Thank you for confirming you have heard the same. I'm excited to see that come. Perhaps we have another care package coming from Scion. How exciting! Rob |

We're going to build up the Tamiya platform, because the upcoming body will fit chassis' we already have running, but the HPI setup looks very fun.
