Ok so rant time. I need your help and guidance guys.

So as you may or may not know I won some prizes at the Subaru Meet at Ogilvie. I won an HID kit, but since our cars have HIDs I asked the guy if I could switch to a set of fogs. He agreed if I paid the balance of $15.

Great deal so I accepted. For the lights to work I needed to buy little jumper harnesses that were $15 I think. I honestly forget if it was $15 or $20 but for the moment it doesn't really matter. No problem. Then I wanted some yellow film for maximum JDM/EDM street cred. A square foot is $25 for Lamin-X film.

Now since the fog lights are High powered LEDs I asked if I the fogs would overpower the tint. He showed me His car which has those fogs. But it was daytime so It's kind of hard to tell.

I pay for everything and go home very happy.
Last Night my friend and I wrap the fogs and put them into the car. After installing the first one we take a minute to see the fruits of our labour.

Guess what.

The fog overpowers the film. I'm pretty sad because this business owner essentially lied to me to get my business. Nothing I can really do, so we move onto the second fog light.

Second side comes out and goes in much easier than the first. Don't ask why, because I'm not telling you lol. Moment of truth, plugging it in.
It wont plug in.

ok...

My friend asks me to try as he was putting it in.

No dice.

I take a look at the plugs to make sure our wire colours are matching up. Everything is good I look closer and the plugs, and his plug is on backwards.

At this point I'm mad, sad, frustrated, and I feel completely taken advantage of. Other than the fogs, everything I've purchased hasn't worked properly.

What do I do?

Double up the film. As for the plug tough to say. I recently bought a 4th brake light kit and was dissapinted in what was sent. For 70$ us I expected it to be prettyplug and play but instead the light bulb connector seemed too big the wires just came with wire taps instead of a connector. In the end I made everything's ng work and altough it's not up to the standard of what I would have liked it does currently work fine. The dissapointing part is that I think I could have built a better kit for much less.

The film is a pain in the ass to put on honestly. The film is very thick and hard to work with.

I could have just cut the plug that's on the cars harness, and cut the plug on the jumper to make it work. But it's still a pretty new car in excellent condition. I don't want farmer style work done to it.

I would seriously like a refund on my film, and I'd very much like him to ship me a new jumper. Is this reasonable?

On the film definitely not. He showed you what it looked like you liked it you purchased it and changed your mind. That's your bad. For the harness possibly as from what your saying it won't do what it's supposed to do maybe it's just the wrong one who knows.

I suggest you contact Will at ProLightz. He entered the raffle to get word out about the company and your experience was not the intended end result. He was referred by the guys at Trackwerks, has been in business for quite a while and seemed to be running a reputable business.

Will installed clear lamin-x on the same LED fogs and it has been fine. (unless by over-powerd, you mean the yellow gets washed out by the super bright lights)
When installing the adaptor plugs, the plug attachment orientation has to be considered before attaching the fog leads. I don't recall if the colour flipped on one side for continuity. Be careful if you try to remove the leads from the adapters. I think they are meant to be used once.

My issue with the film is he led me to believe that the LEDs wouldn't over power the film which they do 100%

As far as the plug goes it's this end that's screwed up, not the end that I had to assemble Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431958660.914930.jpg

His plug is on backwards. It needs to be rotated 180*

Sorry for the crappy photos.

I'm not trying to put down the business or anything. I just want to be treated fairly. I don't want to have to drive all the way to Ottawa for his (or his supplier's) mistake. I don't want to come off the wrong way when I call or email him. I just want my $200 fog lights to work

By overpower you mean melt ? @HeadBanger

Surprised LEDs would get hot enough to melt tint. I had a similar issue with HIDs and cheap yellow film on my Mazda, but HIDs produce way more light
