Fix it ticket exhaust help

i have EL headers, invidia overpipe, stock front pipe, and TRD exhaust. If i stay 2.5k rpm or lower its not that loud. Stock front pipe toned down my exhaust a lot.

So far i havent got pulled over for it considering i live in the valley. And if ever i get pulled over, i can tell em its a dealer option unless they pop my hood and see my headers.

I have a 3" dynomax vt muffler with a 2 foot resonator on a 3" exhaust (up to a 2.5" overpipe w/o cat). The car is pretty quiet and purrs if I don't throttle the engine hard. But when I do... there better be no cops around

Also that valve spring issue people used to talk about on that muffler has been fixed long ago.

BAR referees don't care about what you have as long as your exhaust system has adequate mufflers/baffles/resonators to meet the sound limit as stipulated on the vehicle code.

Thanks for jogging my memory, as you are correct that I was not "required" to go to court. I stopped by the court clerk just to confirm that with paying the bigger fine, it did not require that anyone actually check that I fixed the loud exhaust.


I assume you did not have anyone actually check your car for repairs either?


I guess in some cases it might be easier to pay the bigger fine and not have to convert anything back to stock if you had a lot of mods to change.

Correct. This is a violation of vehicle code, if you want you can pay as many fines as you desire, much like getting a ticket for no front plate.
