There is a difference between teaching lessons and being just plain cruel.

The Impreza and WRX are now separate models.... although when I first had that thought it was actually a STI and not a WRX.

When the STI gets the FA20DIT, I'll probably go back to thinking STI.

Cruel would be just removing the turbo completely

When I was 16...

My 74 super beetle with dual 48mm webers in a 2196 wasn't too shabby...

Oh and to those who thought my thread on the exhaust meant I had a loud exhaust on my frs, I had a single exit stinger on that beetle, it was the loudest thing you ever heard. Going under an overpass would rattle your teeth...

The result will be, a 16 year old with a rather inexpensive but well maintained 4 year old car. I don't really need his money but am reluctant to just give it too him as he then misses out in the life lesson that nothing in the world is free. OP seems to understand this concept at this point at any rate.
If you truly don't care about the money, consider putting that money away in a secret college fund for him. This way, he gets his lesson and the money is put towards a worthy cause and you get some serious points with him a couple years down the line.

Or just go buy yourself something shiny ..just going off of your post

I also came in to this thread expecting to see a bunch of bickering on whats a better system... But turns out this is a decent posting thread. Btw OP, you seem like a straight forward guy, so just think long and hard on it before jump. Also, there isn't enough research out there to know how to mess with all this until you go through it. Good luck
