Asphalt is at least 5 in 1 for appearance...
  • Flat dark grey (mainly occurs in very diffuse light, like when very overcast or rainy/foggy)
  • Black at night
  • High metallic gloss anthracite (mainly occurs in bright sunlight when car is extremely clean and waxed - most phenomenal appearance for a Twin)
  • near black with a Purple-Golden hue (mainly noticed during sunrise)
  • near black with a Reddish-Golden hue (mainly noticed during sunset)

I chose Halo White but I think my childhood decisions won out on that one

I've had all white cars until now.....dealer rep told me why pay $400.00 more for just pearl paint....I chose Asphalt and never looked back.....I get compliments all the time about how the metallic flake just stands out....Put Opti Coat Pro on your car after you purchase it....cost is cheaper in the beginning because not much paint correction will need to be made...I did mine about 5 weeks after I purchased it....best $395.00 spent...Asphalt FTW!

But since it's her car, let her keep her color choice. Another thing is that i'm pretty sure you don't really see that many BRZ in china...
There are still many blue.. but you're right it still a pretty rare car in China as most of family only own one car then a german sedan is the most common(Boring) car..

At the end of the day go with your gut.
I don't really have a chance to compare these two side by side, there are community here .. but never contacted them..

I assume people near LA are more sunshine and want to have light color ? Though I never been to the States..

It is really a shitty country, the government want to put there feet in every little profit, I actually paid the half price to the government.
There are test fee , certificate of free sale, and around 50 % tax.
The terms of immigration to another country is always in my mind.

I been to Singapore, a country organised hierarchically by the Brit-Chinese, which is really harsh, I feel bad without money in that Theme-Park style city.

I checked the idea of the Opti Coat Pro on the local internet, however too much fake product here, I don't want to be robbed, perhaps an order oversea on Amazon.com is a good idea.

White or bust.

Unfortunately Satin Pearl White/Whiteout/37J >>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo. It's more distinctive and 37J looks better after being waxed than Halo.

i wanted ultramarine, but when i saw the asphalt i apologized to my salesman and took the asphalt , to this very day it still gets mistaken for black #asphaltproblems

if your wife says asphalt just get it, happy wife = happy life

i got the dual climate just to avoid domestic violence as i need my side of the cabin to be 60 degrees constantly.

Deposit made,Should I change Asphalt to Halo White ?

I just remembered one key factor for halo. It's nice if you live in a city with lots sunny days. If not then it's just a plain white, I Hope that helps.

If you are that torn between two colors, just pick one. you'll enjoy the car regardless.

Just flip a coin and pick a color. either way may want another color after seeing it. But, that car won't be yours, so enjoy what you have.

Halo, just like any pearl color, is much harder to paint match. With that said, I went with whiteout (the pearl option for 2014). I was debating between it and asphalt, but since the car I traded in was flint mica (charcoal), I figured to go with white. lol

Also, I don't think pearl white photographs as well. It's more of a in-person color. haha

I am biased of course, but Asphalt seems like the proper choice here.

1. Wife

2. The trim pieces blend in with Asphalt much better. Mainly the ugly piece of plastic where the back-up lights are located.

3. Maybe it's just me, but when I see white cars I think of "fleet" vehicles, e.g. company cars and rentals.

I'd think that if you live in a very dusty, dirty environment the Asphalt will show dirt faster. I have Whiteout and it cleans up nicely and gradually "fades" to white then gray as it gets dirty whereas Asphalt is close enough to black it will show dirt, dust and water spots pretty quickly.
