So I recently had some issues at the track with my brakes and wanted to see if anyone can give me any idea of what it can be.
My Current Setup: KW V3 Coilovers Project Mu Club Racer Brake Pads Front & Rear Endless Brake Fluid Enkei RPF1 w/ Hankook RS3 Tires At Buttonwillow mid first session the front straight i start braking before turn #1 and i feel my brake pedal pulsating but the brakes are still holding but i get that pulsating feel and hear a grinding type noise. In any other turn the brakes are working perfectly fine no problems. Only on turn #1 would this happen all day at the track. Some other info about me and my car. I am a beginner and dont have much experience racing so i dont do the pedal dance. Possible being ABS kicking in? But no lights are flashing or anything while braking. This is also the first time i been to buttonwillow. I have used these brake pads twice before at streets of willow and never experience any problems but this was the first time i had the rpf1's and rs3's compared to using stock tires in the past if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any help. |

It sounds like it is probably ABS. |

I was with the red FR-S. I was thinking it can possibly be the ABS but I have never experienced that before for explain racing at Streets of Willow or Big Willow never had a issue like that.

@CSG Mike I'm planning my first track day for this summer. Exact location is tbd based on work schedule. Somewhere in the Birmingham/Atlanta region. My car is basically stock. My question is in regards to tires. I'm currently on 246/40/17 hankook v12 eco 2. A buddy recommended having a new set ready after hitting a small local track. For a total novice would u recommend using my 17x9 rays 57 extremes or the stock wheels and what tires would u suggest? Of course being my first event I'm not looking to set records just improve my skills. Thank you in advance.

At this point, it won't really matter which tires you run, but if you're not planning on ever using your stock tires again, then you might as well put the wear and tear on those. |

Hi Mike,
A quick question. Does a bucket seat lower the seating position? The top of my helmet is almost touching the ceiling and it gets a bit uncomfy after 3-4 sessions. I can live with it but I may considering getting a new seat later this year. Thank you! |

what's the user feedback on the willwood 6 piston brake kit for track use ?
It is a bit cheaper than the AP kit, larger rotor... everybody here seems to be picking the AP kit, but willwood looks pretty nice as well on paper.

It sure can, but keep in mind you'll be compromising your airbag.

One thing I liked about the DBA rotors was the heat paint markings, mine indicated rotors temps between 850F-1000F, which according to DBA meant I should upgrade my brake system: Quote:
